MIU MIU @ SS2013 Collection

MIU MIU SS2013 collectiion is very elegant and all wrong. The collection embodies an alternative elegance made of contradictions: denim becomes couture, whilst precious fabrics and fur are processed, wrinkled and dyed. Two different attitudes join together to make the collection both chic and aggressive at the same time.
The wrinkled tailoring of suits and coats is coloured with patterns created by the tie&dye processing, that gives rise to naïf decorations to mirror the contrast between elegance and rebellion. The setup created by OMA inside the Palais d’Iéna symbolises two visions engulfing each other, like the intrusion of tie&dye in haute couture outfits.
A sophisticated collection enriched by prints, ornate constructions and couture fabrics. Suits, capes, tops, knee-length skirts, are made of denim (unprocessed and stone washed), duchesse cotone seta, ciré, and embellished with mink fur and fox stoles. Colours range from cool white to black, through gunmetal grey, with touches of red and flesh pink, decorated with graffiti-effect prints.
Tote bags, made in vitello shine matelassé pressato, review a classic 1950s style, but totally deconstructed. Leather is finished to obtain a wrinkled effect, in line with the ready-to-wear. Jewels replace the buttons on jackets and coats and they embellish bags and footwear. Pointed small-heeled pumps alternate with low sandals, in the pink, red, cipria, cuoio, black and blue colours.
