Dior Cruise 2018 Collection

Dior Cruise 2018 collection was inspired by the motherpeace tarot created by Karen Vogel and Vicki Noble in the 1970s. The collection will be presented in all Dior flagships and in an exclusive selection of pop-up stores specially decorated with paintings and hangings featuring arcana from the deck such as the wheel of fortune, the grand priestess and the sun.

In Paris, at 44 Avenue Montaigne and on Rue Saint-Honoré, in Milan at Antonia, in Berlin at the corner, then in Miami, these tarot pop-ups will showcase creations revisiting the feminine illustrations from the divinatory cards which inspired Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Round minaudières, models of the lady dior and dioraddict bags, silk scarves, sweaters, bomber jackets with patches, leather biker jackets, and a host of other creations boasting these feminine figures in embroidered, printed or hand-painted incarnations will exclusively be available in these locations.

“The tarots of Karen Vogel and Vicki Noble are powerful, they are the artistic expression of a feminism capable of healing and strengthening. I wanted to reuse them with a pop spirit. These tarots are linked to the star signs, also dear to monsieur Dior. Fortune telling and tarots are part of the codes of the house as i discovered when immersing myself in the history of christian dior, and i’m appropriating them by reinterpreting them in each collection with a different spirit,” explains Maria Grazia Chiuri.

CHANEL Introduces CODE COCO

At first glance, a bracelet that sparkles around the wrist. A jewel. Initially, one recognizes the clasp of the 2.55 bag. This jewel is a code. Then there are two hands. This code is a watch. The eyes then glide along the quilted bracelet. The watch is decoded.  A jewel. A watch. Codes. This watch is called: CODE COCO.

It does not reveal its secrets from the start. Not to everyone. It takes time to decipher the codes. Liberated from time, respecting traditions with contemporary irreverence – CHANEL’s codes are timeless.

The CODE COCO watch closes with a click like the quilted 2.55 bag, created by Mademoiselle Chanel in February 1955, whose clasp adorns the heart of the watch’s dial. Open or closed, it conceals or unveils the time discreetly hidden there. Time itself, is a secret to be protected.

A diamond subtely shines on a black dial, the maker of a precious allure. Its supple bracelet, so light the tinniest movement is unhindered, recalls the beginning of this quilted design. A tribute to a story, style and look, the CODE COCO watch carries the ever-renewing
codes of CHANEL.

Louis Vuitton Tambour Slim Metallic Flower

The Tambour Slim watch collection has been enriched with the addition of a new feminine timepiece: the Tambour Slim Metallic Flower. The two-hand model features a spectacular dial that elegantly reinterprets the emblematic Monogram Flower. Accompanying the minutes on their journey, 60 Monogram Flowers with pure, dynamic lines are engraved to form a single Monogram Flower. The symbolic Louis Vuitton bloom shines with intense metallic radiance, achieved through the expertise of La Fabrique du Temps.

Louis Vuitton watchmakers. The craftsmen reveal the metal’s brilliance by patiently brushing the “stamping”that makes up the decoration with a copper-bristled brush and Panama wood concentrate. With the perfect combination of watchmaking expertise and elegant design, eight polished cabochons add an extra layer of sophistication to this contemporary dial.

Setting the rhythm of the hours ablaze with their gold reflections, four iconic motifs from Louis Vuitton’s stylistic repertoire - Monogram flowers and LV logo - create a luminous contrast with the polished steel of the case, available in three sizes: 28, 33 and 39 mm. Thanks to an exclusive concept of interchangeable bracelets – a simple, robust Louis Vuitton patented system – the Tambour Slim Metallic Flower lends itself to all visual interpretations for a playful, enchanting reading of the time.

Dior Homme Introduces Spring 2018 Dior Denim Collection

On the occasion of the Spring 2018 season Dior Homme presents a Dior Denim Collection by Kris van Assche, in a casual re-interpretation of the tropes of a Dior Homme suit. Revisiting the urban pairing of straight leg 5-pocket jeans with denim shirt and jacket styles, the idea of ‘double denim’ is underpinned by the classic touch of crisp shirting and a silk necktie.

The iconic silver-embossed black leather ‘Dior’ logo tab is revisited as an external embellishment, shifting from the inside out to appear on shirting, jackets, and jeans.

Exploring an array of treatments from raw indigo to vintage black and bleached washes, Dior Denim elevates traditional work wear with engineered cuts and opulent details including sheepskin collars and snap-stud buttons.

Graphic elements abound, with the season’s club kid slogans appearing as DIY screen-printed details and the new roses embroidery as a bold shoulder patch on slim blousons.

The look remains slim and relaxed throughout, with sleeveless gilet shapes for layering, and a balance of clean and distressed finishing.

The Dior Denim collection will be in stores in January 2018. For the launch, special pieces customized with London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Tokyo initials will be exclusively available in 6 pop up stores over the world.
