Palm Angels Debuts First Eyewear Collection

Palm Angels debuts its first SS2021 eyewear collection developed in the New Guards Group design workshops and creativity hubs, the new Palm Angels shades are pervaded by the codes of the brand, born through the innate dialogue with the ready-to-wear collection and a natural evolution of its continuous extension.

The firm geometric shapes of the acetate frames merge or collide with the metallic Palm Angels logo, bold and visible, to state the debut of the brand in the eyewear panorama. Essential yet audacious, the collection presents two unisex styles, available in different colors: Palm and Angel, a conversation of two complementary souls.

Unexpected is the key word for Palm. A dissonance staggers the structure, breaking the temple linearity and creating a distortion in the frame. A subtle 90’s feeling matching with a rock attitude: Angel presents a solid structure, where the maxi Palm Angels logo in the iconic goth font of the brand steadily marks its personality, clashing the ordinary.

Berluti x Thélios First Collaborates Eyewear Collections

Introducing the very first Berluti and Thélios collaboration, an eyewear collection prominently featured in Kris Van Assche’s inaugural fashion show for the Parisian Maison. Six different sunglass models are inspired by Berluti’s signature patina, the traditional process for colouring leather. Which this season is reinterpreted by Kris Van Assche, taking on a new light and a wealth of red, yellow, blue and green hues which saturate garments and accessories as well as eyewear. The collection is also a tribute to the old marble tables at which craftsmen hand-dye the patina of shoes in Berluti’s manifattura in Ferrara. The dye-splattered marble is replicated with striated acetate on the eyewear frames. Timeless shapes and classic materials including light metal and deep-coloured, ultra resistant acetate meet understated luxury finishings, such as the iconic B logo discreetly placed over the hinges or the nose pads and a 1895 signature on the lenses. A mirror treatment with a patina-inspired ombré effect applied to the
lenses in two distinctive shades, Blue Flash and Read Flash - puts an audaciously modern spin on the design.

Mulberry Debuts Eyewear Collection

Mulberry launches its eyewear collection in a new expansion of their unisex lifestyle offering. Coinciding with the unveiling of the SS2019 collection, this debut collection presents seven styles inspired by British style icons. They each resonate with the youthful, irrepressible spirit of our heritage, and this season’s wider collection.

Taking an aesthetic sojourn to the Mod subculture of the sixties. This was an era when distinctive eyewear silhouettes, from John Lennons to Jackie Os, became synonymous with their wearers. The bold styles add a fresh, playful edge to these retro influences. The Mulberry frames fall into categories: the Kate, Jane, Emma and Gian come in chunky acetate while the Tony and Lenny styles are shaped from a lightweight metal wire. The final silhouette, the Enyd, combines both materials in a hybrid style. The colour palette borrows from the seasonal ready-to-wear, showcasing shades from Hibiscus Red to Sorbet Pink, as well as timeless black and golden metallics.

Emphasizing on craftsmanship and quality as much as form and functionality, this brand-new category have been created in partnership with eyewear specialists DeRigo. ‘The exciting decision to launch eyewear felt like a logical progression for me. When I design, it’s important for me to consider of every aspect of a person’s life. Eyewear presented a fresh new avenue to expand the Mulberry lifestyle. For this first collection, the idea was to create bold but refined frames that are both feminine and masculine, elegant and timeless. They reference a moment in time but feel right for right now.’ Johnny Coca.
