Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet @ Fall 2013 Collection

Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet Fall 2013 Collection believing there are no rules when it comes to personal style, it is best defined as Fantasy Street Style. Envisioning a cool, clever free-spirit wandering the streets of Paris, Bendet has created a collection that allows for both sophistication and whimsy. A tiered ball gown is layered with an après ski knit and topped off with a studded leather motorcycle jacket. Plaid is made pretty in miniskirts and shift dresses. In a modern setting interpretive of Natalie Barney’s Left Bank salon, Fall 2013 combines elements like quilted leather and knitted fur with romantic lace and brocade, into a collection of juxtapositions where street style becomes the ultimate form of self-expression.
Demonstrated through the layering and mixing of textures and prints, Fall 2013 merges feminine silhouettes in lace or brocade florals, patterned knits, simple suiting and embellished separates with tougher elements like burn-out velvet, metallic distressed denim, plaids, chunky furs and laser-cut leather. Jackets are oversized and skirts are made to be mini, marking an important play with proportion this season. alice + olivia accessories also translate the brand’s statement of individualism, with highlights including a crystal-embellished “Olivia” bag, a tiger-print clutch and a knee-high quilted leather wedge boot.
