Giorgio Armani @ Pre Fall 2014/15 Borgonuovo Bag

Launched with the SS2013 collection, this new iconic satchel bag, now named as Giorgio Armani Borgonuovo Bag in honour of the designer’s relationship with the city of Milan, brings a sartorial savoir-faire as well as the fashion house’s truly Italian craftsmanship to the world of leather goods.

Made entirely by hand by skilled Italian artisans, the bag has been created with the same attention to detail as a jacket. Like a tailored blazer, the front quadrant is built on canvas, which gives body to the leather, making it more rigid so that it takes on a perfect shape while maintaining its roundness.

The contrasting lining is then inserted, complete with a previously-sewn-on pocket with a snap button. With its clean yet feminine lines, adjustable handles with buckles and spirit of functional purity, the satchel lends itself to fresh interpretations each season through the use of different colours and materials from printed calfskin to vintage crocodile, mixed in combinations of contrasting colours and tone-on-tone pairings.

For the AW2014/15 season, the family of Giorgio Armani Borgonuovo bags is expanding with new stylistic variations and materials: as well as the satchel and handbag, there are also small and large shoppers and a new bowler case.
