Salvatore Ferragamo @ The Amazing Shoemaker Fairy Tales & Legends About Shoes and Shoemakers Exhibition

Museo Ferragamo in Florence held a grand opening inaugurated “The Amazing Shoemaker -Fairy Tales and Legends about Shoes and Shoemakers”. The exhibition is based on Salvatore Ferragamo's epic life-story, in which fashion, art and dreams intertwined in perfect harmony.
Wanda Ferragamo, Honorary Chairwoman of Salvatore Ferragamo Group, together with all the other members of the Ferragamo family hosted a preview open to a select number of artists - Mimmo Paladino, Alessandro Bergonzoni, Mauro Borrelli, Rick Heinrichs, Liliana Moro, Annette Lemieux, Ann Craven and Frank Espinosa – leading the guests into the magical world of Salvatore Ferragamo, through installations, comic books, animation, short films, stories and antique treasures.
“We are very proud to have organized such an extraordinary, singular event,” stated Ferruccio Ferragamo, Chairman of the Ferragamo Group. “We didn't want another brand retrospective, but rather an authentic production, presenting countless works of art specifically commissioned for this exhibition, displayed side by side with prestigious ancient pieces borrowed from other museums.”
The Amazing Shoemaker, which was inaugurated only a few days after the establishment of the Fondazione Ferragamo, is based on the life and work of Salvatore Ferragamo, a man led by his determination who relentlessly pursued his dream: creating beautiful, novel shoes that would soon inspire women for generations.
To enhance such a blend of imagination, fashion, art, myths and legends, Palazzo Feroni opened its rooms to the guests for a luncheon presenting a special fairy tale menu that included dishes and hors d’oeuvres with fanciful names like “The Fox and the Grapes”, “Snake’s Eye”, “Pumpkin Carriage”, “Gateau in Boots”, “Hop O’ My Thumb Crumble”, “The Princess and the Pea” and “Peter Pan’s Clouds”. The ancient palace was decorated for the occasion with floral arrangements inspired by the fantasy worlds of Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz.
Don't miss the amazing white shoe film and be one of the first to view it :
