 Jacob’s Creek Reserve Barossa Shiraz 2010 Barossa lift nose with ripe, concentrated blackberry and fruitcake aromas, hints of chocolate, black pepper and spice, seasoned with a sprinkling of nicely integrated sweet vanillin oak. This full depth crimson red and full bodied yet soft, the palate shows ripe black fruits layered subtly with carefully handled stylish oak, supported by silky textured fruit tannins and balanced acidity, concluding with a long, savoury finish. Released in July 2012, it had won the  Gold medal: 2013 China Wine & Spirits Best Value Awards and  Silver medal: 2013 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition  USA. It is excellent for drinking now, and will continue to improve over the next five to ten years. This Shiraz is  an ideal accompaniment to braised lamb shanks, eye-fillet of beef or hard cheeses.
The Jacob’s Creek Reserve Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2012 is a lifted bouquet of citrus, white peach and fig balanced with nuances of cashew and cedar. It is an attractive palate of fresh citrus and stone fruits enhanced with subtle oak, providing spice and textural creaminess. Tight mineral acidity and vibrant fresh fruit characteristics creates a wine of great finesse and structure. Released in August 2012. This vibrant pale straw with green hues Chardonnay had won the Gold & Trophy 2013 Sydney Royal Wine Show (Class 33) and  Silver medal  2012 Royal Melbourne Wine Show (Class 10). It is quite attractive for drinking now and with careful cellaring will gain further complexity in bottle over the next 5 to 7 years. It is best serve chilled. and is an ideal accompaniment to cream based pasta dishes or roasted chicken.
