International Woolmark Prize Returns To Asia

The International Woolmark Prize this year returns, crossing into more cultures and more countries than before. With the expansion of Asia as well as into the Middle East, Lebanon and Pakistan, 48 nominated designers were vying for the coveted prized. Judges from esteemed industry representatives sitting on each of the regional judging panel. Winner of the Asia's round was announced recently and the award and prize went to Hong Kong design duo ffiXXed  as the winner of the Asia selection for the 2013/14 International Woolmark Prize.
fiXXed were awarded for their stunning wool dress which was inspired by a rug, There was a balance between the surface and form of a rung with the softness of the wool. The winning team did the best of all round presentation and put together their ideas in a way that was clear to understand. They took every aspect of the competition into consideration and did it in a very innovative way. Not only their use of wool were modern and yet created a fashion forward capsule collection.
Chosen amongst the 10 most promising talents coming from all over Asia, the winner gains a financial contribution of AUD$50,000 plus the opportunity to compete in the International competition, representation Asia at the grand final event, taking place in Milan in February 2014.
 For the next 6 months, the winning designer will be required to develop a capsule collection in Merino wool, to be showcased during an extraordinary event which will be showcase the five finalists to be selected from across the globe.
