Fashion • Terracotta Warrior Inspired Fashion Design Competition

The “FashionTerracotta Warrior Inspired Fashion Design Competition” final competition was held recently to promote The Majesty of All Under Heaven: The Eternal Realm of China's First Emperor exhibition, hosted by the Hong Kong Museum of History, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), and the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), with the collaboration of the Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The event was solely sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
This first-if-its kind fashion competition which they can master their creativity with the inspiration from the Terracotta Warriors of the Qin dynasty attracted 172 works were received from fashion design students and graduates from Hong Kong, Macauand the Mainland China. 19 outstanding works were shortlisted and showcased individually by catwalk for the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up.  
 
  
The Champion went to Bonnie Cheng Wai Yi withe her awarded work “The Deity”. The winning pieces from the competition will be exhibited at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 16 August to 9 September, together with the outstanding design created by the local children and youngsters from the programmes of the “Terracotta Warriors Inspired Design” series.
