Island Shangri-La Hong Kong X Dorian Ho

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong and Dorian Ho announced their collaboration for the 2012 Gala Dinner and Bridal Fair by unveiling the spectacular pearl wedding gown worth HK$8,880,000 - inspired by the aesthetic value behind the finest Champagne Perrier-Jouët. Dorian Ho Bridal 2013Collection - Garden of Love will be showcased on the night of the Gala Dinner as well as the new romantic evening dress collection, Doll by Dorian Ho, after its successful debut in Paris this July.
This is the first-ever collaboration between Dorian Ho and Perrier-Jouët, with Perrier-Jouët as an elegant source of inspiration for the pearl wedding gown. The idea was stimulated during Ho’s travel to a fashion week in Paris and visit to the Perrier-Jouët Maison Belle Époque in Épernay. Ho was inspired by the embossed artistic anemone pattern design on the bottle of the premium Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque, which was then dazzlingly transposed into the design of the champagne-themed gown. Further inspiration came from what is inside the bottle, dripping with silvery-white pearls that resemble the bubbles of Perrier-Jouët champagne.

Perrier-Jouëthas long embraced the design community and partnered with different artists. It is my honour to be the first designer to create a wedding gown for the brand with such an elegant source of inspiration. I have tried to produce something that aspires to the same level of rarefied quality and delightful effervescence.” Said Ho.
