Chloé AW2017 Collection

For her final Chloé collection, Clare Waight Keller delves into an edgy dream world of psychedelic optimism.

The Chloé girl escapes down a rabbit hole of decades. Around her, colours swirl through icy pastel shades of mint, peach and lilac into earthy brights like ochre, tobacco and vivid scarlet.

From a broad rounded shoulder, straight cabans with Bombay buttons and boxy shirt coats underpin the collection in brushed check wool, striped shearling, and golden fleece.

Lengthening the silhouette, low slung pleated trousers cut in sartorial patterns hug the hips and curve to a tapered pleat. Lace trim slipdresses peek out beneath ribbed stripe and mohair intarsia knits, whilst geometric shell suit shapes are cut in silk and suede.

Accented by the season’s ‘butterfly wing’ collar and lavallière bow, smocked silk blouses are worn under flared V-neck pinafores in bouclé and glazed leather.

Short dresses bloom with organza puff sleeves or come traced with star lace, zig zag edging, and cloud forest embroideries on tulle.

Wonderland prints abound on silk crepe swirling with whimsical flowers, butterflies and mushrooms, opium poppy velvets, or the cameo effect of galaxy faces in a starry night sky.

The AW2017collection is worn with brogued Mary Janes and T-bar pumps or brass-trimmed loafers in suede and patent leather. The new rounded ‘PIXIE’ bag features faceted bracelet handles and a two-tone inlay of goatskin and suede.
