RAY-BAN @ LEGENDS: UNTOLD STORIES

As part of Ray-Ban 75th anniversary, Ray-Ban presents the LEGENDS: UNTOLD STORIES, a limited edition, one-off publication to celebrate Ray-Ban’s unique place in culture over the last 75 years. The book features 18 rarely seen photographs that capture the spirit and influence of the brand over the past decades. These rare photographs of some of history’s most iconic musicians, artists, actors and heroes will showcase how the brand has spontaneously been at the forefront of style and culture since its debut in 1937.

These pictures portrait two NASA astronauts, but also legends such as Arthur Miller and Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Bob Dylan, Jack Nicholson and Sean Penn, Patti Smith and Madonna just to name a few. Needless to say, all of them wearing Ray-Ban. A picture, the saying goes, speaks a thousand words. Rather than just put that to the test, carefully selected high-profile influencers, editors, writers, musicians, filmmakers have been specially commissioned to write 1,000-word essays that will accompany the photographs. Each essay will uncover the secret stories behind the images revealing the special Ray-Ban connection.
Iggy Pop, Johnny Marr, Beth Ditto, Pharrell, Thurston Moore, Bobby Gillespie, Maripol, Jann Wenner, Steve Kandell, are among the prominent names that contributed in uncovering these unknown anecdotes, thus becoming an integral part of this ambitious celebration. Taken decade by decade, The LEGENDS: UNTOLD STORIES is a singular look at culture through the lens of one of the most enduring and iconoclastic brands.
