SIMON GAO ’s fourth seasonal collection since the launch of his eponymous brand SIMONGAO in 2012 is unveiled at London Fashion Week, extending the glory of his haute couture debut at Paris Fashion Week 2013, and the limited edition womenswear collection ‘SIMONGAO for Galeries Lafayette’ designed for the legendary fashion landmark. The winner of the Mercedes-Benz China Young Fashion Award in November 2013 was invited to partake in the official London Fashion Week 2014 schedule, where he unveiled his Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection.
The SIMONGAO FW2014/15 Collection pays tributes to oriental wisdom and world civilisations. Versatility is communicated by the choice of materials including fur, wool, cashmere, cotton, as well as silky and sporty fabrics, whilst monotones and unsaturated blue and green hues form a unique palette. Carving, flocking, embroidery, leather reconstruction and other sophisticated techniques are mastered to refine the details emblematic of ancient civilisations and state-of-the-art technologies. An ambitious revival of historic cultures in contemporary life, the collection promises unique style, comfort and a breath-taking experience of ‘contrasting wisdom’.
A full range of accessories and footwear also features these key elements. The exclusive collaborative collection ‘Charming Gold for SIMONGAO’, co-presented with Chow Tai Fook comes to the second season with fluid, modern designs resonant with Gao’s aesthetics. Finally, the new ‘D:Fuse x SIMONGAO’ women’s footwear collection completes the collection.
