CHEAP MONDAY @ FW2014/15 Collection

Cheap Monday FW2014/15 Collection takes a naïve and youthful direction, with the positive spirit of the innocent in a gloomy environment. The young glorify the end of the world, as destruction becomes a chance for change and revolution! The opposing youth are eager for change, and the conflict between the playful and serious provides inspiration.

Raw, heavy denim and inverted denim are prominent throughout. Texture is important with crinkled jersey, fleeces, leatherettes, mini pleated chiffon and single jersey, as well as clear sequins on knits, flannel and jersey. Shapes are straight and organic, with rounded shoulders and funnel necks. There is a clean, seriousness to the look, with sombre colours.

All-over crisp prints and a gold jewellery kit offset the clean, serious look. Playful fabrics are faux furs, reflective raw-cut skirts and denim puffer jackets. A faux knot effect is used to shape denim dresses, blouses, jersey and sweaters; with matching knotted reflective backpacks and puffer bags.

The rough, smudgy and random versus the clean and organized play an important role on the denim as well, where greys and blue/blacks, rips and bleach clash with constructed crisp twills and square shapes on white coatings. A new mid-rise skinny fit is introduced in “Prime”, as well as a new denim jacket, “Ikon”.
