Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers Opens First Store @ Hong Kong

Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers opened its first standalone store in Hong Kong’s Central District. The store is the brand’s fourth freestanding boutique globally, following successful openings on New York City’s Bleeker Street; San Francisco’s Fillmore Street; and in Tokyo’s Omotesando Hills.
Just as are the other Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers boutiques, the Hong Kong store is an environmental interpretation of the class, touch-quality and fine style of the brand’s collections. The design concept of the store, follow the simple, down-to-earth style of Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers, every detail have demonstrated that Black Fleece elements, simple and elegant design, creating an intimate and comfortable environment. Its distinctive design cleverly creating an Elegance of 19th century New York style, including vintage brick walls, fine craftsmanship of warm walnut showcase and stylish black-lacquered antique-style furniture.
Having designed the Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers collection since its inception for FW2007 Thom Browne explores new ways to interpret the iconic American spirit and sensibility of the Brooks Brothers‘ archives. For SS2013, Browne interjects new prints, colors, and fabrics into the collection such as the fun suit made with regular and wide stripe seersucker. Bamboo patterns, palm fronds, and madras fabrics are used to infuse classic sportswear pieces with a preppy Palm Beach feel.
The color palette for this season consists of bright reds and greens, as well as classic navy, khaki, white, and black. Browne combines prints and bold madras fabrics, some in green and red plaid, together with wool silk linen. In men’s suiting, Browne mainly utilizes his sack suit silhouette to offer a palm fronds suit worn with a matching shirt mixed with madras. He utilizes fabrics such as cotton, madras, wool silk, silk, cotton jacquard and cotton pique throughout the Spring collection.
For women’s looks, he offers new shapes such as high-waisted pleated skirts and sleeveless tops with gathered sleeves and neckline in coated cotton. Shirt dresses in red or navy stripe silk georgette and silk stitch embroidered dresses are featured alongside silk stripe dress with pleated skirts in white and grey and red, white, and blue. Some of the additional fabrics utilized include silk ombre in greens and blues as well as silk polyamide jacquards.
