THOMAS PINK @ AW2013 Men & Women Collection

THOMAS PINK AW2013 Men collection focus on British colour and sensibility. The great heroes of British motor racing, James Hunt and Jackie Stewart inspired us with their raffish sense of style, while British racing green and the distinctive classic reds of the circuit defined our colour palette. The whimsical bohemian, the Marquess of Bath and his eclectic estate deepened our colour palette further and inspired the way we created our layered looks with texture and fabrication.
The journey ended in high style in an alpine retreat embracing the après-ski. The season is divided into distinctive collections of shirt stories. Highlights include inspiration from THOMAS PINK archives of the period, which contribute to the creation of a melody of intricately constructed weaves and pattern in the Beaufort collection. The boldness of our Winchester and extreme cutaway collars set off our statement shirtings and British woven silk ties. Casual definitely took the ski trip brushed flannels, mountain checks and go-faster ski stripes all speak of the slopes in rich hued colour and warm texture.
Tailoring pays homage to the tradition of British climate proof dressing essential to a gentleman’s wardrobe. Prince of Wales flannel shines in a double breasted suit alongside a two button suit in regency blue sharkskin wool to guarantee the working gentleman is wellsuited. Stalwart duffel coats, waxed cotton jackets and Scottish cashmere accessories complete the look.
The Women collection is a blustery Autumn wind has blown away the cobwebs refreshing the styling and giving prominence to the White Shirt. The collection heroes, the most constant of all shirts: the ‘White shirt’ in all its’ iterative forms and fabrics. Inspired by heroic shirt wearers Mrs Vreeland, Katharine Hepburn and Mr Darcy to name a few - our aim was to create handsome shirts with a commanding character at once combining versatility with standout showmanship. Fine Swiss cottons and poplins so crisp that they crackle mingle with honeycomb lace and sleek silks to compose a collection which jostles for attention. The focus is firmly on whites, from Optic to ivory, but highlights of bold colour appear- cornflower blue, fuschia and scarlet all feature.
Robyn Shirt Dress.
The unique and alluringly quirky Robyn shirt dress is presented in bold and eye-catching red as well as the more classic black, with multi-functional fashion credibility at its heart, for a truly versatile look befitting the fast paced modern woman. Featuring three-quarter length sleeves, side pockets, Mother of Pearl buttons and teamed with an adjustable ‘obi’ style belt, the Robyn shirt dress presents several different ways to wear depending on how you wrap, button or belt it.
Wrapped to one side and belted, it will create a figure-hugging shape. Button more conventionally and wear it either belted or loose. The belt changes the look very simply depending on whether it is closed at the front or back of the dress. It will do double duty worn open as a lightweight jacket and of course accessories can be added to take you from stylish day wear to seductive evening wear. The Robyn shirt dress is made in crisp Swiss cotton from a small specialist mill.
The collection continues with an eclectic mix of vibrant, bold colours and eye-catching prints as the theme for the ever- growing shirt collection from THOMAS PINK. Florence Torrens, Creative Director at THOMAS PINK, said: “The shirt is always at the heart of what we do and the coloured shirting range encapsulates our design philosophy that a good shirt will take you anywhere. Our aim is to make every item in your wardrobe work as hard as you do.”
The aptly named ‘Violet’ shirt encapsulates what the new range is all about. A clever combination of a minimalist piece in 100% silk with bold, attractive colouring to make the Violet a must-have addition to the wardrobe. The quintessentially stylish, semi-fitted ‘Lenora’ shirt is bold in colouring to tap into this season's trends, including pink with red side panelling, cuff and collar block and a more subtle but equally appealing navy with black block colouring in 100% silk.
