SAINT LAURENT Monogram

SAINT LAURENT Monogram is a luggage and accessories line which is part of the permanent collection of the House. Yves Saint Laurent did a Monogram design in the seventies. The collection was mainly women and featured the YSL  logo designed in 1961 by the artist Cassandre.

Designed in 2013 by Hedi Slimane in LA. It is one of the House's classic lines. The Saint Laurent canvas is a transposition of the Yves Saint Laurent logo designed by the artist Cassandre in 1961. The monogram print is a repeating chain of the Cassandre logo formed by lines and dots. The print comprises three  colours : black, dark brown and light brown that enhance the unique balance between relief and shading.

The canvas is made from a base of natural cotton, coated to give it the sheen and strength required for leather goods.  This traditional work leaves the cotton weave visible, evidence of the exceptional quality of these products. The interior lining is made of Saint Laurent Grosgrain, which adds a lightness to the line. The Saint Laurent signature is embossed in gold letters on every piece in the collection. This range of travel goods for men and women is made up of around thirty items, from traditional luggage to travel  essentials and small leather goods. The Saint Laurent Monogram collection also features classic men's essentials such  as briefcases, totes, cases, and bags of all sizes and the entire range is made in Italy.
