Kate Moss x TOPSHOP @ SS2014 Collection

Kate Moss and TOPSHOP SS2014 collection consists of a range of pieces encapsulating the British fashion icon's unique style. Taking inspiration from her renowned wardrobe, Kate has worked hard with the TOPSHOP design and buying teams, pushing boundaries from her previous Kate Moss TOPSHOP collections in terms of fabrications and attention to detail. The result is this much updated, premium collection – re-affirming her unrivalled position as THE true British icon. Sold globally in all TOPSHOP stores and online at Topshop.com

Key design categories for this collection begin with Balearic Dressing, a reflection of Kate's love for the Balearic Islands comes a series of carefully embroidered smock-tops; silk blouses and a white kaftan that is based on a vintage find she wears every summer. The bold Aztecs dress has a handmade feel and the heavily embroidered crochet lace dresses, which either skim the thigh or the ankle, are available in cream or black. Pyjama dressing adds a totally new element to the Kate Moss TOPSHOP range. Silk satin sourced in London's Soho carries two distinct prints: a subtle, distorted floral design and a vivid Oriental-inspired flower pattern. Both prints will be available in high-waisted trousers, blouses and an ultimate pyjama coat. Cocktail Hour is flirtatious and sexy with hemlines either slashed at the thigh or falling to the floor. The intentional vintage effects, opulent trims and detailing such as cobweb beadwork, sequin bead fringing and crepe satin splicing, all provide a delicate and deluxe element to the designs.

Tailoring Noir introduces a beautiful selection of tailoring including tuxes and trouser suits in black and black gold metallic mixes, a bias cut liquid metallic lame dress and lame floral printed shirts offering a chic, smart alternative to dressing up for a summer evening. The natural evolution of Kate’s understanding of the design process and her vision of the collection as a recently-appointed fashion editor for British Vogue is reflected in the introduction of luxurious fabrics. These include silk chiffons sourced in London Soho and gold lame from Italy and intricate lace from India. Also upping the luxury quota is the meticulous attention spent on trimmings and details, including hand stitching and beading. Items based on Kate's wardrobe have been joined by vintage-inspired hero pieces that she herself often looks for when shopping in second hand stores. These pieces when found are can be threadbare, or with embellishments falling off, so it was important to Kate that these items were re-created and added to her collection this season.
