Ellie Goulding @ HALCYON

Ellie Goulding latest Album made a come back with a  deeper, mature sound that speaks of her personal evolution. Goulding's rave-y hooks in folk-rock tunefulness and art-pop filigree style may have you think of Sinead O'Connor at times in a more diversified way. <My Blood> & <Anything Could Happen> give a great anthem chorus with floating high harmony vocals that are beautifully multi-layered and a male tribal underlying thread. It gets a bit of an 80's synthesised techno beat with an ethereal use of her vocal. Goulding charmed listeners without any doubt regarding the lasting power of her songs with her beautiful soprano voice. She sings freely and carelessly in which the innocence and fragility of her vocals throughout the tracks are moored by a more introspective prove more organic especially the mystical opening track <Don't Say a Word>. Goulding's HALCYON is truly one of the latest real finds for a album that you would like to take home and spinning it again and again to get the right mood and emotion especially with <Hanging On>, it may be more ideal to go without Tinie Tempah's rap featuring.
