《Swiss Auctions Debut @ Hong Kong》

A thriving development in the Asian watch industry has been observed in recent years. Particularly, in Hong Kong and China. Swiss Auctions is pleased to announce the launch of its premier luxury watch auction, to be held on October 5, 2011 at the Diamond Ballroom, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. Around 300 pieces of rare and important luxury timepieces and watches will be on auction. The distinctive difference of this auction is that it features a range of middle and high priced items, attractive for both professional as well as amateur collectors.

The auction will feature rare and valuable pieces by internationally renowned watchmakers such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Cartier. In addition, a highlight of the auction is the antique “Singing Bird” attributed to the Jaquet-Droz. “Singing Bird” is an eight-day going timepiece with center seconds. The automaton bird, covered with genuine feathers, sits inside a gilt bronze cage and can sing six tunes on the hour and half-hour or at will. This very fine and rare clock illustrates the exquisite watchmaking craftsmanship inspired by Jaquet-Droz, making it a highly collectible and desired piece.
