《6 Minutes @ Eddie Pang 彭于晏》

Eddie Pang 彭于晏, up and coming Taiwanese actor taking his new role in Jingle Ma's romance comedy film <夏日樂悠悠Love You You> shot in an exotic location with pristine beaches at Pulau Lang Tengah. While Pang was in Hong Kong promoting this film, mylifestylenews spent 6 minutes with him and find out what he thinks about the location while he greeted us "Selamat Datang" (means welcome in Bahasa, Malaysia native language) that he learned during the movie making......

M: mylifestylenews
P: Eddie Pang

M: What is your first impression of Pulau Lang Tengah?
P: Far away. It is really far away. For this is the first time I am going there and also mainly the day of my arrival, I was flying from Europe to Malaysia, when I landed in Kuala Lumpur, we took an immediate connecting fly to Kuala Trengganu. Upon arrival at the local airport, I thought I was there, we need to take another ride by car to the Jetty before we were transferred on a speedboat for another 45 minutes in order for us to land on Pulau Lang Tengah. When I arrived at this splendid island, my weary and worries just gone as I know that I will be spending at least a month here with no regrets.

M: Tell us some special moments during the movie making?
P: We ate, we swam, we snorkled a lot as there is not much you can do at this peaceful and remote island but to enjoy the natural beauty surroundings. The back beach is rather amazing, clean, and also one of the best places for snorkling, lots of beautiful tropical fishes, I even saw a couple of baby sharks, it is amazing. Besides, there are lots of bonding among each other especially with the crew and made a couple of new friends with the locals by sharing their warmest hospitality and difference in culture. The locals are so simple and you can feel there are lots of purity in them, unspoiled just like the island.

M: What was the biggest challenge or you think you have not done well enough in the role that you played and there is room for improvements?
P: The bonding and communication with the co-actors who played my family, the indepth of our careness with each other wasn't strong and good enough even the scene appears for just a while. I wish I could have more time to get to know them better and played that scene with more emotion. Another scene was I have to be a chef to prepare a meal (Fried Rice) in the kitchen and I have to act like I am an experienced chef while I cook. I never cook in my real life as that could be quite an interesting while we make that scene.

M: Does the location helps you to play your role better?
P: Oh yes, location is essential especially when we are making a romance comedy in a place like this which is so beautiful. It does help me to fall into the emotion when it comes to the romantic scenes.

M: Any new discovery on food?
P: Unfortunately our meals were provided by the hotel daily and we have yet to have a chance to go around to try on with some other local delicacies. There were days that we finished shooting for the day, director Jingle Ma told us for an excursion and good back to the mainland and gave us a treat at a local seafood restaurant in KT (Kuala Trengganu) in which we have a chance to savor the local seafood cooking. At least we have done it!

M: What would you recommend doing while in Pulau Lang Tengah?
P: Enjoy the quietness, the beautiful nature and unspoilt beaches. Also we have built a floating chapel while filming and there were quite a few  we shot there, quite charming. I was told the local authority will remain having the chapel as one of the highlights to promote tourism. If so, do pay a visit. It is fun!
