LANCEL @ FW2012/12 Collection

LANCEL FW2012/12 Collection continues to pay tribute to the 135 years of French Légèreté. Inspired by the rich archive and collection of Madame Lancel, Lancel continue to recreate the vintage bags into new classic. This season once again is about story telling. Adding elements of the French monarchy from the 18th century (Chateau de Chantilly), The Reign of the Queen timeless collection travels through time and brings the effortless chic and beauty of Royal France to present time.

The bags reflect tapestry, imperial frieze, wonderful clothes, divan, officers’coat of arms and classical music from the French monarchy. This undeniably feminine collection and lavish impressions evoked are the hallmark of LANCEL’s meticulous craftsmanship and exemplary know-how.

On 10 February 1987, the LANCEL maison launched the mythical Elsa, worthy inheritor in the long tradition of the bucket bag. With millions of pieces sold, Elsa rapidly became the star accessory, an integral part of every tasteful wardrobe. With strips of leather, loops, hourglass motif stitching reflecting its timeless design, drawstrings inspired by a vintage LANCEL model, Elsa has become the symbol of a generation Its lightness, feminine volumes and curves, and shoulder strap have become a source of inspiration for several models of the 21st century: the Premier Flirt (2006), the Brigitte Bardot (2010) or more recently the Daligala (2011).

Characterized by femininity, natural grace and joie de vivre, Elsa personifies the ideal of the object sublime, timelessly beautiful and utterly contemporary at the same time. Fashions change, Elsa remains, being handed down from mother to daughter for 25 years. This year Elsa will celebrate 25 years, 25 years of lightness, 25 years of leather craftsmanship, 25 years of liberty.
