Massimo Dutti @ FW2012/13 Collection

Massimo Dutti FW2012 collection presents a Modern & Romantic Style of New York . <Goddess> is the first collection of the new women collection that sees off whites and sundown sandy neutrals complimented by shades of grey. The palette is intensified with highlights of coral and lime then gracefully grounded with the strength of black. Without sacrificing quality, “Goddess” explores touches of newness with its texture driven fabrics. Angora knits, shiny nylons and wool boucles are paired with wardrobe staples – classic jackets, coated denims and billowing blouses. Shimmering sequins, patent leather – Metallic snake prints, quilted leather – and touches of lurex are key to the collection. Oriental inspired prints, lace and draping provide a sense of femininity and harmony together with colourful hats and structured handbags.
The <Graphite> collection is created using the crispness of white combined with shades of blue, charcoal grey and whiskey brown. “Graphite” is a collection of strong, sharp silhouettes with modern twists contrasted with traditional touches, remaining ture to the heritage of the brand. Newness is found within our innovation – reversible outerwear, detachable collars, peplums and tonal houndstooth, worn head to toe. Cashmere blended wools can be seen in knitwear along with modern, satin finishes on trousers. Accessories in buffalo skins and smooth vegetable leathers complete the collection adding the ultimate touch of luxury.

The <Clarity> provides the high quality required by today’s modern woman along with the luxury she deserves. Jackets using lavish yarns and metallic threads in feminine silhouettes and fine wool coats are worn with elegant silk blouses. Pleated skirts are updated with transparent fabrics and worn with a bulky aviator jacket to toughen up a feminine look. The classic, timeless “Husky” jacket is modernized with contrasting leather sleeves whilst metallic trouser finishes are introduced. Accessories in graphite tones ate laminated for a polished look.

The <Witness> is a collection based on a subtle mix of pine green hues grounded with black and soft ecru. A casual, laid-back look where high quality, fit and detail remains at the forefront. Leather accents, as seen on the catwalks, can be found on trouser waistbands and combined with denim. Stretch fabrics and double crepes are key for dresses whilst coated wools are evident in tailoring and technical fabrics in classic parkas. Jet black jewel embellished collars on knit dresses add a touch of demure glamour to “Witness”; decorative elements which can also be seen in the accessories along with the use of subtle shimmers contrasted with the clean lines of the collection.

As for the men's collection, The<Chrysler Building> can be identified as the modern, 21st centuary man with a good life, who enjoys fashionable restaurants and hotels. He is a contemporary hedonist. A jet-setter who spend most of his daily hours suited and awake. Short jackets, tailored suit trousers, shirts in blues and whited, and knitwear in warm green tones encompass his look. Fabrics are also of the highest quality: in cottons, cashmeres and wool, silk-cashmeres while colourful scarfs and neckchief add a pop of colour to this neutral palette. He is elegant, sensual and ironic in his persona and his dress, and can be easily identified with movie stars.

<Flagship> is a sophisticated collection, full to the brim with unbeatable materials in all its products, both for clothing and accessories. The New York of the times of Prohibition becomes the centre of inspiration of all its elements where the <Financial District> is somewhere between the past and the future. Classic tailoring has always kept the great traditions of the past but with a modern reinterpretation and act as a distinctive sign of wealth and power. The spectrum of colours for business meeting don’t only revolve around blue and black tones, grey blends fromanthracite to pearl are also key. Classic suiting fabrics like tweed, flannel, herringbone, pinstripe and welsh check, also have importancein this season’s tailoring collection.

The <Meat Packing> look is a mix of the sordid but also the cosmopolitan. This old area in New York has influenced the feelings and enriched the ideas in this collection. Structured fabrics such as wool, moleskin, cashmere, cottoncashmere and boiled wool, create an air of austerity, but in a truely elegant way. Key styles in this collection are the four-pocket padded blazer, the twisted yarn pullover made in linen-cotton and the moleskin coat.

When the leaves start to turn and fall and the light begins to fade,< Madison Avenue> reflects a luxurious lifestyle, however it never ostentatiouos. Fabrics are of a high quality in cashmer; key styles for example are two coloured cotton cashmere sweater, the diamond shaped padder blazer, the perfect jacket and the jacket made up of four different types of wool fabric. All these styles create this key look for autumn / winter which not only is modern but also sophisticated.
