REDVALENTINO SS2016 Ad Campaign

REDVALENTINO SS2016 Ad Campaign

A piano, a stage, a mirror, a crystal chandelier, a multicolored corridor: rhythmical scenes that unfold the REDValentino SS2016 Advertising Campaign. Shot at the legendary Edwardian theater Bush Hall in London with the British singer/songwriter Birdy. Scenes are accompanied by the song Winter, a track from her new album Beautiful Lies. In the moments prior to a performance, Birdy creates unexpected figurative and decorative compositions: a visual storytelling captured by the sharp eye of Olivia Bee, talented photographer and director. Dark hues blend with glitter while the sparkle of colors and garments create a magical atmosphere. The extemporaneous dimension focuses on the protagonist, a contemporary Marie Antoinette, a young woman who becomes the unchallenged sovereign of the stage awaiting her court of spectators. She is lying down, playing with the crystals of a chandelier; she runs surrounded by multiple colored lights; she writes with lipstick on the mirror of her dressing room; she sits on a dazzling piano. Her delicate, melodious voice soars over the background melody, celebrating along with the lyrics the most sublime performing art: singing - the art of modulating sounds, of storytelling, of expressing one’s personality.

“I love the enchanted world of REDValentino and the romantic dresses that have always been associated with the Brand, so I was delighted to be part of this collaboration and to have my music in the campaign”. Says Birdy. Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli have decided to give this young artist, vocal phenomenon with a dreamy and spontaneous spirit, the task of representing the unconventional and romantic poetry of REDValentino. “It has been an honor to collaborate with Birdy for the REDValentino SS2016 Advertising Campaign. Birdy embodies the uniqueness of the girl we are inspired by the ability and talent to pursue passions, to achieve one’s desires.”
