Luxurious RC Memories In The Ritz-Carlton, Macau

With the opening of Cotai’s Galaxy Macau phase two, Macau now has a new luxury hotel to make this new destination even more exciting and elegant. With the recent opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, this all-suite hotel brings elevated luxury to Asia’s premier tourist drawcard. mylifestylenews writes.

The hotel experience begins with the moment we arrived in the soaring marble three story atrium lobby with a dazzling chandelier cascading down from above. after being whisked away to the 51st floor lobby, we were directed by the gracious and hospitable from desk staff to a sofa to relax and enjoying a glass of French champagne while we awaited out suite since we were ahead of our schedule.

Shortly thereafter, we were escorted to our spacious suite, where a large picture window offers a breathtaking view of a part of this glittering city. With each suite averaging 96 square metres and exceedingly high ceilings, the sense of space is superb. The elegant décor features rich carpeting and a soothing colour palate (a pleasant contract to what lies outside in other tourist precincts).

The suite layout is perfectly judged and you can access each area from two different directions. The furnishings are not overdone so that you have a greater sense of space and every whim is catered for in both variety of furniture and amenities provided.

The bathroom is the most ornate space in the suite, with a small chandelier above the circular bathtub that is the centerpiece of this space and touches of gold in the light fittings and marble accents, but essentially, the overall effect is understated elegance.

Spacious White marble bathroom with luxurious amenities from Asprey

There are his and hers vanities, beautiful signature amenities with the elegant toiletries of Asprey of London "Purple Water' brand, a guest toilet off the side and a bed that will transport you into a state of bliss every moment you are lying on it as well as the fine linens are divine and all taste are catered for.

In addition to the suite, you have exclusive club lounge access on the 53rd floor, offering custom experiences 24 hours a day that includes five complimentary culinary presentations through out  the day. The oasis of comfort and taste offers complimentary breakfast, snacks, afternoon tea, hors d'oeuvres, desserts and beverages for you tip atop Macau in such luxury while enjoying all the food and beverages on offer that tempts you to stay put.

The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge

Should you wish to have another more relaxed F&B experience, the bar on the 51st floor has a happy hour which we were interested to try, called “Apperativo”, serving unlimited drinks and snacks, including mini burgers, burritos, and a cheese smorgasbord, plus their signature gin and tonic menu is amazing. Sing along with the current jazz trio evening’s soundtrack while you let the day segue into night. A must try with the Gin Trolley – a selection of fine Gin from around the globe mix with various concoction made-to-order by the in house mixologist.

The premium selection Gin from the trolley is a must-try

As it happens, The Ritz-Carlton does have a superb authentic French brasserie - The Ritz-Carlton Cafe and an equally classic Cantonese restaurant -  LAI HEEN and The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge , not forgetting the wellness Spa This hotel is determined to keep you happy in many more ways without you having to venture further afield.

For a further R&R, the pool deck on the 3rd floor is another fabolous spot to enjoy your time when the weather is amenable. There is a very large rectangular swimming pool, with additional relaxing water areas at one end and many cabanas to avoid the sun.

If you insist on spending a lot of time by the pool, The Ritz-Carlton Pool Bar is another spot for a casual, al-fresco dining experience. With a touch of sophistication in blue and white ceramic decoration details popular in traditional Portugese design. The exotic and eclectic menu complements the beach-cabana style architecture.

Helmed by Chef Bryan, also Executive Sous-Chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, the culinary offerings have a big focus on organic food and traceable seafood. Menu highlights include Seafood Bowl of Lobster, Oysters, Crab Legs and Prawn, Salad of Baby Beet, Heart of Palm, Aged Balsamic, Green Pea and Artichoke Puree, Gazpacho Catalan, Sri Lankan Crab with Cilantro on Barbequed Sourdough, and Grilled Sardine Wilted Spinach, Radish and Watercress.

We tried the Australian Wagyu beef burger and the seafood noodle soup and both were quite delicious and beautifully presented, attention to detail is still a focus even when at this outdoor location.

Beverages on offer are sure to inspire, offering a diverse range of organic beers as well as organic and biodynamic wines and signature cocktails. For poolside dinning, you don’t need a heavy meal but a few munchy was most ideal.

Relaxing lounge area by the pool

While the hotel itself provides everything and anything you could possibly want, you also have complimentary access to the newly completed integrated resort environment of Galaxy Macau's Grand Resort Deck, including the Skytop Adventure Rapids Waterpark, which has a lazy river floating experience, a water slide mountain and a large wave pool, all within easy walking distance.

We spent quite a few hours enjoying these additional amenities with the superb weather. Afterwards it was always nice to get back to our oasis of calm in the hotel pool for a place to wind down again.

Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, cocktail hours are available on the 53rd floor club lounge

Our stay was not long enough but we did have a chance to avail ourselves of everything on offer and were absolutely delighted at every stage of this luxury experience especially their signature restaurants were design to impress. We missed our first wake-up call but we had woken up in time for breakfast. Despite some of the dishes on the Club Lounge buffet - breakfast & evening spread was lacking that authenticity in flavor and freshness, this is just a minor quibble, as many other dishes were quite spot on.

Refined Asian hospitality draws visitors to Cotai and The Ritz-Carlton, Macau embodies that allure with fine dining, world-class entertainment and incredibly luxurious amenities, including a full-service spa. As this hotel is still relatively new, there are some details still need to be ironed out, which is understandable and try as they might and no one can please everyone’s tastes in this demanding world. Nevertheless, we departed with some great RC memories and without a doubt of such pre-eminent place for luxury in Macau.
