YNOT @ AW2013 "Ride Up" Collection

YNOT, an Oriental creative masters of design, founders Mao Jihong and anothermountainman redefine fashion with their new label “YMOYNOT”. Established in 2012, YNOT is not just a brand new fashion label, but also an open platform for creative talents across Asia, and a way of life and attitude that expresses oriental aesthetics. YNOT’s debut SS2013 collection was led by young designer Michiko Suzuki, who has followed and worked under the wing of grand master Yohji Yamamoto for over 10 years. The use of asymmetrical cutting, hollow loose knit and grungy fringes signify modern woman’s love of freedom and elegance filled with confidence.
The AW 2013 collection carries on the daring and bold attitude of the brand, with exquisite details and wild creativity, it most definitely stands out as a unique oriental force within the Asian fashion arena. The theme of this season is “Ride Up”, meaning “the stir of a dress”. The visual shows a galloping woman in the wild, unleashing the passion hidden within and letting the spirit ride with the wind. With a heart of a genuine designer, Michiko Suzuki uses high quality fabrics, blending in other natural materials such as cotton, linen and silk and merging with oriental symbol – “Yuan He (Shippo)*”  that represents harmony and completion.
Michiko Suzuki continues to lead the design team of YNOT for the new season. Having worked under the wing of grand master Yohji Yamamoto for over 10 years, she is hailed as a “fashion poet” who designs with Tokyo Creative Style – a creative production process of a poet or a writer. YNOT AW2013 collection speaks a poetic language, marrying oriental aesthetics with a contemporary approach. Lace, prints and materials are used among an androgynous design, blurring the boundaries between two sexes and representing the confident, energetic and affectionate Y generation.
The AW2013 collection features different styles include simple yet chic party dress, wool vest with a splash of palette of colors, hand-stitched feminine jacket and floating long polka dot dress. The asymmetric cutting on the upper and lower body also brings out the sporty yet edgy side of the silhouette.
