Stacey Bendet @ Spring 2014 Collection For Alice & Olivia

To celebrate the launch of the new shops and the regional expansion, Stacey Bendet made her first public appearance in Hong Kong and hosted a party incorporating creativity into the party as 'fashion Jamming". The brand has collaborated with five contemporary artists from Asia with different expertise. The artists unleashed their creative flair on five new art pieces using some of the brand's iconic dress designs. Participating artists include Hong Kong-based illustrator Dorophy Tang and florist Gemma Hayden Blest, oil painter Cao Xihui from mainland China, Taiwanese papercut artists Jam Wu and Singaporean painter Laura Soon.

While Dorophy made use of the floral illustration to enrich the color texture of the white dress with touch of unique Hong Kong Culture, Gemma projected her floral jamming skills on the dress adapting the seasonal floral theme of the brand to enhance the beauty of the dress. Jam Wu dressed in pappercut elements on transparent organza of the skirt, giving the visual impact with the unique concept of layering.

The oil painting by Cao Xihui gave an alternative graphics projecting an extraordinary sensation of the dress. Last but not least, Stacey and the CEO of a renowned artist, David Choe. Adorned with distinctive and inspiring " A Woman and a Monkey" painting, the piece spread a message of love, kindness and positivity around the world. These multi-media creations will be unveiled to the audience at the party, followed by the public exhibitions at selection Alice and Olivia stores.

Stacey Bendet’s Spring 2014 collection for alice + olivia is at the crossroads of prep-meets-pretty. It’s the ‘American girl’ – carefree collegiate with a romantic twist. White is the new black, with the collection built around sophisticated neutrals accented by pops of pastel.  Pink, aqua, yellow and silver complement nude, bone, black and white.  Key pieces play on proportion and include the mini skirt, slip dress, crop top, little white suit, and an updated blazer.  From beaded jackets slung over collared shirts to modern collarless blazers paired with sexy lace short-shorts, ball gown skirts for daytime and crop tops for all the time, spring is about mixing prep with pretty in a fresh way.

Spring 2014 is the season of the white shoe.  Silhouettes include delicate, strappy tapered-toes and chunky platforms with espadrille accents.  a+o handbags introduce two new styles – the Jackie and Alli bags – rendered in snake- embossed skins and sporty perforated leathers.  Accessories provide contrast to the understated color palette via striking bursts of light aqua green and sunny yellow.
