SERGIO ROSSI Sneakers @ A Tribute To Arte Povera

Sergio Rossi pay homage to the art world by presenting one of the avant-garde art movements of the early 1970s: Arte Povera. The Collection and Design Director Angelo Ruggeri cleverly mixes the brand's signature sleek lines with influences from artists such as Alighiero Boetti, who focused on both the artwork and its constituent elements, drawing attention to time, the work of the artist and the materials used. The result is a celebration of Italian shoemaking excellence, from the upper and nine-thread stitching "narrating" the history of iconic Sergio Rossi shoes, to the unique details, such as the gold zip embedded by hand and the fine skins used, like crocodile. The new Sergio Rossi sneaker will be unveiled to the world on April 10th at Milan Design Week, in a special Made To Order edition featuring three different models. A select number of these will then be available in Sergio Rossi boutiques worldwide from October and, for a limited time only, it will be possible to register at www.sergiorossi.com to be one of lucky few able to exclusively pre-order a pair.
