PINKO @ SS2014 Collection

PINKO SS2014 Collection, slick mini dress with a feminine flair, multicolor sandals all about edgy design. Here’s a woman who surfs the world of style shifting smartly between retro and progressive mindsets, playing blithely with a sensuous palette of hues. The end result is a new Pinko collection where urban glam and exotic chic twists signal the latest for today’s strong personality.

A globetrotter who expresses through her personal wardrobe a passion for exotic travel, Pop Art, F. Scott Fitzgerald lit, wicked fun & frivolity. This season dresses make the ultimate fashion statement. Whether knee or ankle length, softly body skimming or stretch fit, they are fluid and figure flattering, define perfect silhouettes. In addition, they feature keen tech/couture/vintage textile research, the use of exclusive print fabrics and special working processes.

The four major themes are: <Exotic> As in frocks sparking images of trips to faroff lands thanks to a rich array of colors and patterns, from minimal Afro chic tribal to upbeat tropical parrot and Hawaiian hibiscus designs. Meanwhile the new snakeskin print plays with and effect halfway between graphic pixel and stunning kaleidoscopic motifs.

<Les années folles> A.k.a. the Roaring Twenties. The famous chemise style, lovely sheer chiffon and lavish sequin embroidery. Now what makes the simple shapeless evening dresses all the rage is a dazzling splash of gold and silver.

<Memory Puzzle> Slick and edgy à la modern day Edie Sedgwick, ergo capturing a cool cosmopolitan mood. Here prints complete with lettering, pixel graphics & echoes of pop become collages of different art periods. It’s pure sophistication with a brilliantly original digital slant.

<Bubble Gum> Short ‘60s hems, soft pastel shades. Pink is the color of cheeky bougeois chic, while black exchanged dramatic elegance for  delicate crystal and bold cone rivet embroidery. All the charm of past eras comes through also in the duchesse, taffeta, viscose, crochet, georgette and eyelet fabrics. Thanks to crepe de chine and sangallo lace, even the sporty blouson goes romantic.

Pinko jeanswear translates into a full range of daytime & evening denims, from classic suit to mini dress, from shorts to sleeveless jacket. Equally impressive are the many different types of washes and treatments, from tie & dye to total white, passing through an exclusive new faux patchwork technique.

Accessories are very much part of the SS2014 scene, represent the ideal finishing touch to every outfit. Timeless handbags as well as envelope and clutch styles make the most of basic shapes, gorgeous brights and matte colors. Prints reference the clothes and have fabulous fun with overlay effects (big trend of the season). Flat sandals in pastel tones take turns with extra high platform heels. Python, studding and gold disc decor serve as the crowning elements.
