EQ:IQ @ SS2014 Collection

EQ:IQ SS2014 collection represents a modern women’s intelligence and creativeness that is presented through an array of fabulous designs. The Spring wardrobe takes on Body Shadow which highlights fluid graphic printed on light-weight materials for added fluidity; while Mirage fills the season’s collection with exotic elements – a picturesque desert landscape with graphics on a series of fabrics. Flourishing flowers are captured in Blossom Buddy, adding a poetic touch and natural splendor to the pastels. Harmony of Contrast rounds up the season by meshing our love for opposites pairing different textures in one harmonious line. EQ:IQ is fulfilling all your fashion desires this season.

<Body Shadow> A trend-worthy glammed up sportswear collection of sheer knit tops, sport-luxe inspired wear, nappa jacket and dresses with slits all fall under the aptly-named line. Tapered stripes are printed on light fabric such as silk organza and fluid graphics that follow the body’s motion, initiating dreamy sensual distortions in a high-tech surface. Contrast is further accentuated with the combination of sturdy and soft, fine and soft, as well as high-tech and natural in this stylish collection. Flock technique is employed, with lots of transparency and layering to craft unexpected volumes and hidden details. Lace is also placed in a simple and minimalist way, whereas the knits come in distorted stripes featuring a net effect. Body Shadow features shades like black, white, cyan, turquoise, light turquoise and greys.

<Mirage> Short leather dresses and shorts, long wide fluid dresses and cropped trench coats are given a touch of desert-inspired Mirage elements through prints and colors. Vast desert landscapes are captured and combined with animal graphics printed on a series of fabrics including linen, waffled cotton and silk gaufré. The interesting irregularity in cuts rough edges and asymmetric drapes is equally telling of the exotic touch. Sunset hues with blacks, nudes, khaki, sand and olive make this collection one for the road.

<Hot Water> Get transported to the “Blue Lagoon” thanks to a line that includes printed dresses, white blazers, knit tops, that is Hot Water. Start your holiday by donning the vivid azure colors of the sea and the whites of the sand, while being hit by waves and the shining sun. Simple silhouettes with drapes are showcased through lightweight materials like sheer silks, washed organza and cotton. Watermarked prints also feature in a series of tops and dresses as a nod to the oceans yonder. A bold palette of shades including electric blue, grass green, emeralds and sand is definitely what tropical dreams are made of.

<Blossom Buddy> Stay pretty in pastels and blooms with our Blossom Buddy collection, whether it is an adorable tee or a dress with an irresistible candy crush print. The line is filled with natural splendor and an added poetic touch thanks to beautiful floral arrangements that flourish on washed silks, tulle, washed cotton, rayon crepe and silk organza. Delicate laser cuts also give off a soft, foggy effect – one where fragility meets femininity. Knits in organic shapes, with mix of textures and strong colors, are the standout pieces of the series. Skirts, sleeves jackets and drapes, with unexpected volumes or big pockets, show off a noteworthy yet minimalist look.

<Harmony of Contrast> There is a sophistication required to make contrasting elements work in one seamless single outfit and that is exactly what the collection is all about. Organza deftly utilized alongside crepe de chine, fine plissé mixed with structural fabrics lead to a fascinating patchwork of styles. Lines, stripes, prints all work in tandem to give off layered and inspired choices. Think pleated skirts with a hidden undertone, shift dresses with a cutout mesh overlay and double weave contrasting color details throughout the line.
