Giorgio Armani @ Films of City Frames

Giorgio Armani announced the launch of Films of City Frames with the pilot video featuring Paolo Sorrentino, directed by his assistant Piero Messina. The project will ask the most promising students from six prestigious international film schools to create a series of short films. The participating schools are: New York’s Tisch, School of the Arts; USC, Los Angeles School of Cinematic Arts; Rome’s Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia; London’s NFTS, National Film and Television School; Paris’ Esra, Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Films of City Frames offers an opportunity to showcase emerging talent through the use of Giorgio Armani eyewear. Glasses play a prominent role in the project, in addition to framing the characters’ expressions they also act as a filter, capturing emotions and experiences with the various cities ultimately becoming film sets.

Giorgio Armani addressed the students saying, “Every city has its own unique energy, which comes especially from the young people who live there. Films of City Frames was created for you, in order to involve you in a project of discovery and exploration; it’s an invitation to investigate freedom of expression. What always surprises and excites me about young people is the variety of their points of view, there is an ability to see things that often pass us by unnoticed. I hope that by participating in Films of City Frames you will completely involve yourselves in the project, giving free rein to your creativity and energy. I offer you my encouragement to do your best, and to first and foremost surprise yourselves. Remember that originality is where true wealth lies. I wish you well in your work!”
