Conrad Bangkok - Stay Inspired

The newly refurbished Conrad Bangkok came back with an inspiring design with authentic Thai traditional details that not only strives to offer a brand new staycation experience and rise above the ordinary but also to enhance your stay, with elevated inspirations. mylifestylenews writes.

Situated in the heart of Bangkok's commercial district on Wireless road with a straight line of lush trees and an easy access to Bangkok's BTS skytrain system via the Phloen Chit station, many of the city’s incredible sights, shopping, and entertainment options of this vibrant, bustling metropolis are within easy reach.

Walking into the new lobby, you will immediately be greeted by the elegant outline of a temple and pagoda seen from the Ratcha Woradit Royal Pier given a modern twist. A shade of earth tone hue brought to your attention in a hint of zen motif. From the giant pillars to the chosen sofas color and orderly arrangements, there is no doubt
minimalism plays an essential element while the new design is inspired from the “Art of Wood and Impression of Bangkok”.

Designer Ray Chuang of celebrated Cheng Chung Design has combined the elegance and warmth of teak, evoking Thailand’s local temples and traditional houses, with lighter oak, gold and brushed bronze to stunning effect throughout the hotel.

Art of Wood: The color tone of the new design is inspired by shade of teak wood which is considered as the queen of timber. The designer embraces teak’s elegant brown color and adds a contrast of glossy gold materials and metal, creating a classy, fine and sleek feeling. The soft grain of brown teak wood, so evocative of Thailand’s past, in which local temples and houses were all built with teak.

The towering pagoda is an iconic sight in the Thai capital. The unique temples that represent Bangkok, such as Wat Phra Kaew (The Temple of the Emerald Buddha), Wat Pho and Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn), and views from the Ratcha Woradit Royal Pier - have inspired the designer with a passionate impression. This famous and appealing skyline of the city in the interior design, with a printed decoration and partition in the spacious main lobby are stunningly presented.

At the back of the registration area framed an impression of Bangkok: through 3D crafted artwork of Rajaworadit Pier – the royal pier located on the west side of the Grand Palace. Traditionally, this pier is reserved for the king & royal family since the reign of King Rama I till today. Whenever there is a Royal Barge Procession, the king & royal family will embark from this pier.
