Her collection evokes the splendor of tropical plants such as the palm, the inspiration for two different motifs. Paisley palm is influenced by the ancient textile pattern of Persia and India. The leaves are repeated in an 18 karat gold bangle accented with pink sapphires or green tsavorites, in detailed band rings, and a single luxuriant leaf designed as a pendant. Heart palm is based on the bougainvillea that flourishes in warm climates. She styles the leaves to resemble hearts. These romantic leaves form necklaces, pendants and earrings of 18 karat gold, outlined in sparkling diamonds. Delicately linked, the leaves shimmer brilliantly with a turn of the head or a wave of the hand.

The trellis designs trace the elegant geometry of latticework that anchors flowers and vines. The collection includes bangles of generous widths handcrafted in a clean, crisscross pattern of gold or sterling silver. There are also pendants of 18 karat gold with lustrous lapis lazuli, jade and onyx. The stones make a strong color statement that is a signature of Paloma Picasso’s celebrated collections. Floating above this idyllic scene are butterflies that alight on tender blossoms. She captures both in pendants of 18 karat rose or yellow gold or sterling silver.
