《Veuve Clicquot @ ART HK12》

Veuve Clicquot Celebrates their Fourth Year as Partners to ART HK 12 showcasing a special “Spiral Galaxy commemorates 240 years of History. It was premiered on Vernissage night and displayed at the Fair from May 17 to May 19, 2012.  Designed by London-based artists Ben Langlands and Nikki Bell, whose collaborative works span 30 years and range from digital media to full-scale architecture, this special piece celebrates the 240th anniversary of Veuve Clicquot and also commemorates the legacy of the House.
In this work, key dates in the brand’s history are presented in a spiral format, starting at the House’s foundation in 1772, and then moving to the invention of Rosé in 1775, onto the first vintage in Champagne in 1810, and then the invention of La Table de Remuage in 1816… the outward spiral ends at 2012, for now, with a toast to 240 years of illustrious history and the 40th edition of the Veuve Clicquot “Women of Inspiration Award” program. Ben Langlands and Nikki Bell were in Hong Kong for the installation’s premier at ART HK 12 to meet with art lovers and discuss their inspiration and thought process behind the piece.
