JOYCE Opens Alexander Wang First Store @ Hong Kong Gateway Arcade

JOYCE announced the opening of Alexander Wang's first boutique in Hong Kong at the Gateway Arcade, Tsim Sha Tsui. The 1,600 square foot store is sleek in design appeals to the hip, urban customer with its minimalist black and white interior and luxe furnishings. The store carries the brand’s ready-to-wear collections for men and women, accessory and footwear. Moreover, the Objects collection will be exclusively available at the shop in May 2012. A huge party celebration was held with Wang's presence being the highlight of the evening wow hundreds of thousand fans of his by hearing 'Where is Alexander Wang?" at all time in the crowd. Despite the hot summer rain, it doesn't seem stopping his die hard fashionista looking around to have a photo opportunity with Wang.
Wang, a native Californian was born and raised in San Francisco, at the age of 18, he moved to New York City where he attended Parsons School of Design and partook in a variety of internships. By his sophomore year, Wang was already designing the first collection of his label Alexander Wang, which in 2005, was predominantly knits. He launched his full women’s collection in 2007, selling to over 200 stores. In 2008, Alex received top honors as the recipient of the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund; in 2009, he was recognized by his peers when he was announced as the winner of the Swarovski Womenswear Designer of the Year; and in October 2009, he was the recipient of the Swiss Textiles Award.
 
 
 
Wang was celebrated again in 2010 with his second Swarovski Designer of the Year Award, this time in the Accessory category. In 2011, he was acknowledged by GQ as Best Men swear Designer of the Year and by the CFDA for Best Accessory Designer. Now at 28, Wang currently resides in Manhattan; which is also home to his design studio and first flagship store that opened in March 2011 in Soho.
