Salvatore Ferragamo Introduces The Studio Bag

Salvatore Ferragamo introduces the studio bag – its first signature handbag launched since the appointment of Paul Andrew as women’s creative director. Inspired by a powerful sense of creative kinship with the founder of this great house, the Ferragamo studio bag functions as a beautiful tool for 21st century living. A tribute to the imaginative environment of Ferragamo’s first generation of clients is linked to the contemporary creative who serves as muse and inspiration for Paul Andrew today.

That creative credo is just as vital today. The Ferragamo studio bag, with gleaming Gancini fastening, has been meticulously designed as elegant equipment that enables the modern woman to live her life to the fullest. Work, family, friendship, romance, study and exercise are not competing demands, but harmonious elements of life fully lived. The studio bag is a one-stop solution for the woman who packs her day with enriching, creatively diverse experiences and plans to leave nothing behind. Two special-edition versions, one in metallic silver, the other distinctively colour blocked, celebrate the founder’s first studio, the Hollywood boot shop. Exclusively 95 of each edition will be produced as homage to this year’s 95th anniversary of the studio’s opening on Hollywood boulevard.

“The more I explore the heritage of Salvatore Ferragamo, the more I discover how timelessly relevant his work remains. Ferragamo provided innovative and beautiful footwear solutions for a new breed of strong, creative, independent working women who thrived in Hollywood and beyond in the 1920’s and 30’s. For him, beauty and aesthetic appeal was nothing without usefulness and function.” - Paul Andrew The studio bag comes in three sizes and has a classical rectangular profile. Salvatore Ferragamo’s cutting-edge technical expertise has been applied to create a bag that combines strength and robustness in a lightweight and flexible profile. It is handcrafted from all-natural top-grade Italian leathers by Ferragamo’s highly-skilled Italian artisans. Metal studs dot the studio’s base. Colors include: desert, nero, navy, and lipstick red. Premium editions in crocodile, ostrich, and shearling were introduced with Andrew’s debut womenswear collection on the Ferragamo runway in Milan this February.
