《A. Lange & Söhne @ Harrods in London》

According to a historic advertising slogan you can buy everything at Harrods “from a needle to an elephant”. Only the search for an A. Lange & Söhne watch was previously in vain in the luxury department store founded in 1834 by Charles H. Harrod. This gap has now been filled in the most impressive way. Since 7 November 2011, timepieces from the traditional Saxon manufactory have been showcased in the new “Fine Watch Room” of the famous department store on Brompton Road in a shop-in-shop solution. In an environment which in every detail reflects the personality of the brand shaped by its claim „state-of-the-art tradition“, watch lovers can now experience the handcrafted timepieces with the „Made in Germany“ quality seal even more intensively.

For Jacques Thomas, A. Lange & Söhne Brand Manager Western Europe, this is an important step for the development of the brand in the United Kingdom: “By opening the sales floor at Harrods we can offer our numerous international and regional customers in London a representative collection of our brand and the best possible advice.” The A. Lange & Söhne brand was originally founded at the initiative of Dresden watchmaker Ferdinand A. Lange, who established the reputation of the German fine watchmaking industry by manufacturing pocket watches of the highest quality from 1845 onwards. Today, only a few thousand timepieces are produced in gold and platinum cases only. They are exclusively equipped with in-house developed movements, intricately decorated and assembled by hand. With 40 manufactory calibres in a little over 20 years, A. Lange & Söhne has reached a leading position in the league of the best watch brands. The greatest successes include the LANGE 1 with the first outsize date in a series wristwatch and the LANGE ZEITWERK with the first precisely jumping numerals display of singular clarity, which have in the meantime become icons of the renowned brand.
