《Breaking Dawn @ Charity Premier》

FilmAid works in partnership with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and other global aid organizations to bring film programmes that inform, inspire and empower refugees and other communities in need. FilmAid is currently operating in Kenya (in refugee camps on the borders of Somalia and South Sudan), in Haiti, and along the Thai-Burma border. The organisation’s community-centred mission focuses on three primary practices:Information and education: In places with no TV or Internet combined with low literacy rates and limited access to education, FilmAid produces and distributes community-made films on critical public health and safety issues such as HIV/AIDS, pediatric malnutrition, sanitation, sexual and gender based violence, and conflict resolution.Skills training and self-empowerment:
Through FilmAid’s film training programme, the organisation teaches young refugees basic filmmaking skills, providing them access to equipment and a platform to tell their own stories. Psychological relief and healing from trauma: Using mobile cinemas, FilmAid presents screenings of feature films with universal appeal, providing joy, laughter, and relief to those who need it most, namely, communities ravaged by war, trauma and displacement. Fans will have a chance to get up close and personal with Dr. Carlisle Cullen, as actor Peter Facinelli will be flying into Hong Kong for the premiere.
