La Perla X Jean Paul Gaultier @ Lingerie & Beachwear 2013 Collection

The 2013 La Perla x Jean Paul Gaultier Lingerie & beachwear collection is a new exciting foray into the arena of femininity with a couture spirit. The codes of Gaultier and the style of La Perla, are once again interwoven in a dual collection of lingerie and beachwear. La Perla edits one of the cult Jean Paul Gaultier garments, the Cage Bustier, with a cage motif that becomes the principal detail of a selection of bathing suits and dresses with a hyper-graphic touch. While, red or black: three strong colors to underscore the concept of "body architecture" where the cage marks the waist and the hips on the dresses or reveals the body with the bikini. Focus on the bustier belt, the perfect accessory to wear on the bikini, around a shirt, or a tight dress. The tattoo is another fashion obsession of the Gaultier style and becomes a leitmotif of the "Tatouage Imprimé". The printed tattoo is a mix of dragons, eagles and daggers tamed by the romantic touch of a rose wrapped in ribbon that bears the name of this creative collaboration: Jean Paul Gaultier and La Perla. The design acquires various interpretations depending on the color variants: fresh and elegant in blue and white, dramatic in champagne and black, racy in the multicolor version. Focus: a cage dress with a deep décolleté.
The theme "Marin" features garments in ultra-light tulle crossed with horizontal bands of contrasted lace that interpret in the La Perla signature one of the most cherished motifs of the Gaultier style: the sailor stripes. The effect is highlighted by the duo of colors offered in two variations: off white and blue for a graphic and luminous style, blue and black for a more evening and sophisticated look. Focus is on a few irresistible details in sailor style, such as the pierced heart embroidered on the culottes or a small anchor on one of the cups of the triangular bra.
The leading role of the theme "Rubans" is a silk ribbon creating designs and arabesques on the tulle. It is a tailoring technique meticulously hand sewn complex and at the same time carefree and sparkling. The serpentine motifs alternate with intriguing 3D roses that stand out against the champagne background as well as the completely black background. Focus is on a sinuous dress that envelops the body, the bandeau bra with the cups entirely decorated by the curves of the ribbon.
