《Malaysia @ LEGOLAND》

LEGOLAND® Malaysia, thefirst LEGOLAND theme park to open in Asia-Pacific and the sixth in the world officially joins the global LEGOLAND movement, by announcing a series of milestones, beginning with the complete installation of steelworks for its iconic roller coaster ride called the LEGO® TECHNIC™ Test Track; and the sale of annual passes. With these announcements, LEGOLAND Malaysia affirms that development is on track for an exciting 2012 opening. Datuk Syed Mohamed Ibrahim, President/CEO of Iskandar Investment ("IIB"), said "It will be a centerpiece of the lifestyle and entertainment hub in Iskandar Malaysia, making it a major attraction for visitors of all ages. Over time, LEGOLAND Malaysia will grow into a key tourist attraction for the region." Expected to open at the end of 2012, LEGOLAND Malaysia is targeting to pull in approximately one million visitors during the first year of operations.
The steelworks unveiled gives a glimpse of what will be the main attraction at the theme park. The LEGO TECHNIC Test Track rises to 20 metres above ground level and it will be among the first roller coasters built for young children at the park. The colourful carts of the ride will race through the sharp twists and turns of the test track. The highest point of LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Brick and Knob configurations and LEGOLAND are trademarks of the LEGO Group. ®2011 The LEGO Group. The track will give ride-goers a bird’s eye view of the impressive LEGOLAND landscape and the breathtaking views of Iskandar Malaysia. The LEGOLAND experience underscores the need for entertainment and education. Having fun while playing and exercising a child’s imagination and creativity is a critical component to healthy development.  In this highly digitised age, children are losing touch with the importance of experiential play, through sight, sound, smell and touch. LEGOLAND Malaysia seeks to bring back the focus of learning through play. It creats the perfect environment for families to bond together and this is a place where children are the centre of attention.

In view of the volume of enquiries that LEGOLAND Malaysia has received over the last few months, the theme park will be launching early annual passes sales this month. The pre-opening annual passes will be sold at a special discounted price, with a validity that will take pass holders right into the entire year of 2013. These special prices are offered for a very limited period only. Further ticketing details will be available on the LEGOLAND Malaysia website at www.LEGOLAND.com.my.
