When you are staying in a hotel that offers a luxury spa with a wellness retreat and to rediscover your physical and spiritual balance, you would not hesitate to give your body a lifting and soothing massage and a relaxation experience, especially a tranquil spa by the sea. mylifestylenews writes.
One level up above the hotel entrance in InterContinental Hua Hin, you are passing through the white Colonial influenced hallway which takes you to this tranquil spa by the sea. Soothing aromas and quiet tones greet you as you enter the sanctuary of the Spa with the warmest greeting by the therapists who were aligned before the front desk counter. We left the world outside right after stepping into the Spa while being sat down in the peaceful lounge when a refreshing towel, herbal drink and a mini fruit stick are presented to welcome us before the spa treatment commences and we are transported into a blissful state of clam and relaxation.
Wood carving panels mounted to the spa wall immediately transcends the harmony of the surrounding feeling in the lounge area and stepping on the immaculate polished and shinning timber wood flooring with our shoes feeling abashed before we were presented the house slippers. After a brief consultation by the Spa therapists to pick our treatments, we were immediately led to the treatment room to begin with a foot bath with warm water and stones for the stimulating benefits. As the treatment begins, we start to feel the layers of tension being peeled back under the pampering attention of our therapists that were dedicated to our maximum comfort and a total rejuvenation.
Thai massage has ancient roots dating back at least 2,500 years and is said to have originally been inspired by the yogic techniques of the Buddha’s own personal physician, Shivago Komarpaj, in India. As Buddhism spread to Southeast Asia, the monks and practitioners of Ayurvedic healing arts brought these practices with them. Within times, they were influenced and combined with traditional Chinese medicine as well as local therapeutic techniques, eventually becoming the energizing and restoring system of healing arts known as “Thai massage”.
Our 90 minutes <Touch of Siam> massage experience focuses on enhancing blood circulation and energizing the pressure points and help to promote muscular flexibility leading to enlivened reflexes and senses. This full-body treatment uses a sequence of gentle, flowing exercise movements to releases muscle tension and clear energy blockages.
Time flies especially when you are in a good pair of comforting hands soothing your body and hitting the right spots with utmost care and pleasure. We were quite reluctant to leave the treatment room as to waking up tardily where stress drifted away with this signature treatments and left our skin moisturized and silky soft. A range of other relaxing treatments is also available taking you all the way on the path to re-energize, reshape, de-stress, or re-balance in a supreme luxury of your body and mind. We finished off the session with a small pot of ginger tea and some light local Thai snacks and a feel-good warm towel to bring us back out into the world with a new state of well-being.
