EASTIN Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok - A Chic City Staycation

Escape to Eastin Grande Sathorn Hotel Bangkok for a city chic staycation, the perfect locale set along the business district of Sathorn area in Bangkok and with direct access to the BTS Skytrain at Suraksak Station and a Flexi Breakie Breakfast serves from 6am to 1130am is the ultra plus for both for business of leisure travelers. Mylifestylenews writes.

The round fountain spurting the water soaring high welcomes every guest arrival in front of the Eastin Grand Sathorn Hotel Bangkok’s façade and also a mini roundabout  to ease traffic and also initiate the sense of making a grand entrance to this modern and affable hotel.

You don’t want to think of the lobby as a mocktail of corporate banality and big-business bad taste. In fact, the high ceiling foyer with luminous chandeliers steadily adds the luxe factor to this deluxe hotel among many other hotels on Sathorn road. Stylish modernity of the interior is spacious, airy, with plentiful lounge chairs to rest and the Swizzles bar that serves signature cocktails and snacks during operation hours. Tasteful flower arrangements are scattered around the lobby with square pillars complimented with crafted statues on display, which create an arty sensation and ambience to the lobby and lounge area.

Eastin Grand Sathorn Bangkok Hotel has a direct access to the BTS Sky Train system at Surasak station literally bringing the city to your doorstep. This unique facility is the only hotel in Bangkok that offers such convenience connecting by the overhead bridge.

The 390 well-fitted deluxe rooms and suites are decorated in soft, subtle tones and designed for absolute comfort featuring latest and luxury amenities and all rooms offer the stunning views of the river or Bangkok’s imposing skyline. Our 43sqm corner Executive Deluxe room is no exception and with complete privacy.

The spacious and fully fitted bathroom has one of the city’s sexiest views as the bathtub is deliberately placed at the corner on the bathroom looking out on the city skyline while your hot tub session is in action with rolling blinds to provide privacy. The entire bathroom also has space outside the standing rain shower and a long marble bench to facilitate the opening of your suitcase which is something that not many hotels actually offer for such practical expedience.

The wrap around windows looking out to the bustling street of Sathorn area is astonishing. Lots of natural light flocks in to the room and with long drapes of day and night curtains in matching tone color of the room to create a more cozy ambience. We love the fact that the work desk is cleverly placed behind the TV wall, not only giving the room more space for new ideas, thoughts and strategies, yet tidier as well as to gaze out to the view while at work. In the minimalistic atmosphere it is easy to give creativity full scope and to develop new concepts and ways of thinking.

Beckoning with uninterrupted views of the city, the infinity swimming pool on the 14th floor is one of the highlights of Eastin Grand Sathorn Hotel. The cocoon lounges are hard to reserve as they are the most wanted lounges by the pool on a first come first serve basis that gives you the direct city skyline thoroughout the infinity pool. You will see most guests are here to take their best selfie, “wefie” or “groupfie” to revel in the alluring charm of the skyline instead of doing laps in this lap pool for a retreat to a lavish oasis with luxury comforts.

The pool side restaurant BLUNOS is another foodie’s fantasy lead by Chef Martin Blunos and his team that conjures up crafted international home-style fare with a few surprises and cane be savoured over a large portion of a lad-back ambience.

We adjourned to the Executive Club lounge on the 32nd floor to admire the sunset with unlimited serving of a mini buffet (almost a dinner buffet) ranging from fruits, salad, hors d’oeuvres to a desserts spread. A good range of wine, beer, spirits and cocktails selection with unlimited serving from 5.30pm-7.30pm is on offer and a must try is their Cosmopolitan cocktail.

Breakfast is served at The Glass House and indeed it is “Your Value Buffet Venue” as stated. This all day dining restaurant is located on the 5th floor featuring a show kitchen in a modern international setting and offers Asian and Western inspired buffet specialties. The Asian or Thai corner is one of the most popular spots to sample the local Thai breakfast and queues are often seen along the noodle section. We suggest to get there earlier to avoid the “Zoomatic” alike scenario and to have your food served in perfect harmony.  Otherwise, back to the Executive lounge for a less chaotic breakfast is the next best alternative.

Classic, austere, contemporary and comfortable, Eastin Grand Sathorn Hotel is a chic and deluxe city staycation to relax and to rejoice in. Despite the front line service is a little robotic, a further personalized approach would add warmth to complete the entire staycation experience with much pleasurable contentment.
