Hermès @ A Stroll In Silk & Cashmere With Objets

Hermès  FW2015 Object silk & cashmere scarfs are light, delecate and colorful, from a flutter of wings touching down on silk comes this companion to Sieste au paradis, a partner of Balade en berline. Previewed in A l'ombre des boulevards, the butterfly already feels at home as it floats through a collection in which cashmere, yak hair, camel hair and leather invites the hand to longer over extreme softness. "I love <...> to come and go as I fancy" says Jean-Jacques Rousseau in The Confessions and his words become a silk scarf. For what is silk? The material for dreams, the material or strolling.

The scented candle is designed for the home by Celine Ellena, daughter of Jean-Claude Ellena, the head of fragrance at Hermès and presented in a stunning selection of objets d'art by Gullaume Bardet.

This new home Hermès home fragrance collection comprises of five perfumes, with each fragrance bearing its own story and five colors: Des Pas sur la Neige (taupe), Temps de Pluie (celadon), Fenetre Ouverte (lagoon), Champ Libre (sulphur) and A Cheval (pumpkin).

There are three families of perfumed objects designed by Bardet that carry the scents: a paper origami horse, a ceramic pebble and a candle bowl.

This gaint silk bandana shows the purns, stirrups, fastenings and whips with three gold ferrules used by the Cadre noir de Saumur.

Inspired by the Eperon d'or design by Henri D'Origny, this masterful composition of leather and metal, buckles and circles, forms a rosette inscribed in a squre.

A touch of cheery colour in the long winter months, these short scarves are to be worn up around the chin so you can truly enjoy the warm comfort of cashmere.

SAINT LAURENT FW2015/16 Couture "Rue De L'Universite" Ad Campaign

SAINT LAURENT FW2015/16 couture ad campaign "RUE DE L’UNIVERSITÉ" was shot in the new Couture House of Yves Saint Laurent. Renovated by Hedi during the last 3 years, the design follows french 18c period elements and principles of architecture. The Couture House is named "Hôtel de Sénecterre" and was originally built in 1685 by architect Thomas Gobert. Thomas Gobert was the building planner of the King of France, Louis XIV. The Yves Saint Laurent new Couture House is located at "24 rue de l’Université" in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. "5 Avenue Marceau" was the last couture House of Yves Saint Laurent and became “La Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent”.

The Yves Saint Laurent Couture House monumental staircase was built under Louis XV. Hedi Slimane comissioned New York artist Garth Weiser to paint a black and white diptych for the staircase. It was completed in 2014.

The new geometric garden of the Couture House has been entirely replanted from XVIII century archives. There was no garden left. Hedi commissioned the help of an historian to replicate the precise authenticity of the design.

The furniture includes both the House and Hedi Slimane's private collection composed of modernist, Art Deco and XVIII century french pieces. Hedi’s personal collection includes an important ensemble of furniture from 1930's designer Elizabeth Eyre de Lanux, Hedi’s favorite modernist designer.

Her rare design is reduced to strict minimal luxury. One of Elizabeth Eyre de Lanux pieces is a 1930's parchment desk that belonged to Yves Saint Laurent, rue de Babylone. The American artist lived in paris, her work was often collected by french couturiers.

Pieces from Jean-Michel Frank, Paul Dupré-Lafon, Francis Jourdain and Pierre Legrain are part of both collections. Furniture by Louis Sognot, Rateau and vases by Dunand were also found by Hedi for the house and his own collection.

"Les Salons d’Essayages de la Maison de Couture"

Saint Laurent girls: Flo, Helena, Lida and boy Devon were shot in the garden and all Yves Saint Laurent Salons for the Couture Campaign "Université". Flo and Helena / Maison Yves Saint Laurent / Salon d’Honneur / Louix XV table with "grand statuaire" marble top.

The Couture Ateliers are located on the third and fourth floor, one floor above the Couture Salon. There are two ateliers. "L’Atelier Flou" for dressmaking and "L’Atelier Tailleur" for the tailoring. Hedi began to recompose the traditional Couture Ateliers of the House in 2012 . The Ateliers are now at the center of the Saint Laurent project by Hedi Slimane. The Ateliers also produce commissioned hand made pieces for movie stars and musicians.

The House collections curated by Hedi Slimane include paintings of Ad Reinhardt / a black "Ultimate" painting, a Daniel Buren black and white striped painting and a Carl Andre sculpture.

The first floor has 4 salons. "Le salon d’Honneur" faces the classic column facade. Hedi found and restored a monumental XVIII century period crystal chandeliers for the salon and historical staircase.

Hedi determines which of these pieces will carry the ateliers hand-sewn couture label "Yves Saint Laurent". These couture pieces may be women or men, a tuxedo or an evening dress, daywear or eveningwear. The "Yves Saint Laurent" private atelier label is made of ivory silk satin and is numbered by piece. The Ateliers keeps a strict record of all the couture pieces in a gold monogram book.

ESCADA @ FW2015 Tiny Dancer Capsule Collection

ESCADA FW2015 collection is homage to the great modern dancers of the 20th century.  Dance, the art of movement, demands extraordinary fabrics that are light, fluid and soft. Rich brocade, prints and the interplay of masculine and feminine are taking their cue from the period of the early 1900's, when modern dance was founded. Paying tribute to the dance inspiration of this collection, a new sculpture was crafted by hand by the famous artisans of Nymphenburg porcelain.  This delicate figure portrays a dancer stepping onto the stage in her ESCADA gown. The ‘Tiny Dancer’ figurine was produced in a very exclusive limited edition of 20 pieces worldwide, and is featured in the exclusive ESCADA capsule collection. Nymphenburg is the porcelain manufacturer of the Bavarian crown, founded in 1747.  ESCADA is proud of this new collaboration, which brings art and fashion together to create something exceptional and rare. The Tiny Dancer, which is numbered “8” (a lucky number in Chinese culture), has been allocated to Asia Pacific region. The Tiny Dancer is available for purchase at approximately EUR 2,500 and can also be engraved by request.

Xavier Dolan @ New Face of Louis Vuitton FW2015 Male Ad Campaign

Louis Vuitton has chosen actor and director Xavier Dolan as the new male face of Louis Vuitton’s new advertising campaign. A true visionary and both deeply committed, Xavier Dolan also shares his sense of courage with the Louis Vuitton Man, as well as a strong feel for design and style. “I’ve fondly dreamed of becoming the face of an important brand since I was a child, in the same way that others dream of becoming an astronaut. By this, I mean dreams that are very easily pushed aside to make way for work. I dreamed of this as I first and foremost dreamed of becoming an actor and would look up at these huge posters of celebrities while driving along motorways or crossing under bridges. That I am today the face of Louis Vuitton almost seems like a twist of fate. You dream back to front, wanting the rewards before putting the work in. And then you work, get on with life and just sometimes these childhood dreams have a way of catching up with you. This is a true privilege for which I am eternally grateful”, says Xavier Dolan. The new campaign shot by Alasdair McLellan celebrates Ombré, Louis Vuitton’s newest line of leather goods, featuring two iconic bags – the Keepall and the Porte-Documents Voyage Bandoulière. Since he first stepped on the scene at only 20 years old with his debut feature film J’ai tué ma mère, Xavier Dolan has been referred to as “Quebec cinema’s boy wonder”. His fifth feature film, Mommy (2014) won the Jury Prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. At only 26 years old, he was selected to be on 2015 Cannes Film Festival jury presided under the Cohen brothers, becoming the youngest member ever. 2016 will see Xavier Dolan release his sixth film Juste la fin du monde, an adaptation of Jean-Luc Lagarce’s eponymous play, starring Marion Cotillard, Léa Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, Gaspard Ulliel and Nathalie Baye. 2016 will also mark the release of his first English-language film, The Death and Life and John F. Donovan , alongside Jessica Chastain, Kit Harington, Kathy Bates and
Susan Sarandon.
