《BMW @ All New 6 Series Gran Coupé》

BMW hosted a press launch ceremony to launch its all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé represents BMW’s another venture into a new vehicle segment, following the footsteps of the Convertible and Coupé. It is the third model in the BMW 6 Series line-up, and the first four-door luxurious coupé in the history of the brand.
The all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé sees the hallmarkproportions of a BMWreproduced in an unusually low-slung, sporty package despite the cars four-doorconstruction. The unique allure of the car starts with the “shark nose” at the front end. A 113-millimetre longer wheelbase than the BMW 6 Series Coupé allows it to offer a noticeable increase and comfort in legroom for the rear passengers. The classic BMW Hofmeister kink at the transition to the C-pillar is given an extra touch of exclusivity in the form of etched “Gran Coupé” model lettering set against a sporty lozenge structure in the rear section of the side window. The low, elegantly stretched roof line, which flows smoothly into the rear end, is a distinctive feature of the new model’s silhouette.
Based on the intelligent lightweight design, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé marks the new standard in its segment. Use of high-strength multi-phase steels and hot-stamped ultra-high-tensile steel gives the passenger cell maximum rigidity and safety. The four doors – with frameless side windows – and the bonnet are made of aluminium. The front spring supports are of cast aluminium while the boot lid of glass fibre composite. The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé takes practicalities to a new level. It offers 4+1 seating capacity as standard. The 460-litres luggage compartment can accommodate up to three 46-inch golf bags. If the 40:60 split-folding backrest is folded down, the capacity can be substantially increased to 1,265 litres.
As always, BMW infuses such latest proprietary technologies into its 6 Series Gran Coupé as the BMW TwinPower Turbo, direct injection, and VALVETRONIC. Equipped with the eight-speed sports automatic transmission and with the BMW EfficientDynamics technologies that come as standard, the Gran Coupé delivers incessant driving pleasure. Also, the Driving Experience Control function is standard on all model versions. One of the settings that can be selected is ECO PRO mode, which supports a fuel-efficient driving style. Auto Start-Stop is a likewise standard and makes a further contribution to enhanced efficiency. The BMW 640i Gran Coupé has average fuel consumption between 7.7–7.9 litres per 100 km while 650i has a stunning record of 8.6–8.8 litres per 100 km.
