DVF Spring 2018 Collection

DVF Spring 2018 Collection is a youthful spirit energizes a collection where eccentricity melds with a sensual, effortless glamour. A trippy, escapist mood permeates; hallucinogenic light projections land softly, distorting andre calibrating the clothes and models.

Film work is reminiscent of Exploding Plastic Inevitable, Andy Warhol’s 1966 experimental film screenings and dance performances staged with his coterie of dissident creatives. Continuing the story of New York as a crucible of ideas and creativity, the Spring 2018 collection is presented in the birthplace of the brand.

Spontaneous and expressive, the collection evokes a free-spirited, nonconformist woman. Synthetic, vivid colors charge decadent hand-painted florals, and graphic spots and stripes; a signature brand mix. Movement through dance is illustrated in aqueous bias-cut dresses, power stretch modern fabrics, and details such as voluminous smocking and balloon sleeves. Characterful and unconventional, a modern romantic outlook is reflected in the collection that carries a dreamy fluidity. One of Warhol’s subversive and imaginative muses, Factory girl Jane Forth is long admired by chief creative officer Jonathan Saunders for her distinctive beauty and off-kilter style.

Forth was founder Diane von Furstenberg’s first model in the Seventies, and her individualism echoes in the collection. A dichotomy exists in traditional artisanal screen printed techniques used on technical nylons and innovative, custom-developed specialty textiles, rich in texture and dimension: screen-printed lurex, buoyant organza with a woven stripe, liquid-like 3mm sequin fabric. Bold Nineties rave colors of acid green and purple infiltrate a nostalgic palette of spearmint, teal, juniper, lavender, and black. Lean flares are cut in a woven tricolor modern cord that gives the impression of shine.

Outerwear: a cropped suede jacket in cobalt and chestnut blue; a belted caramel leather patent trench worn with a lilac fur collar. Silk fringing recalls the languid and seductive masculine movement integral to rebellious rock and roll: a vivid yellow bias-cut skirt comes in silk satin and bespoke web lace with a dramatic double layer fringe. Footwear includes elevated platforms and decorative flatforms, knee-high lace-up boots in velvet, and delicate sandals. The new Bon Journée bag is introduced in multiple and unexpected fabrications; including bicolor leather, watersnake, and with half-moon medallion hardware. Sunglasses have red and rainbow gradiated lenses. Jewelry riffs on eclectic and collected talismanic charms, with agate stones and metallic feathers framed by oversized hoops on earrings and chokers.

TOD’S Surf Pop Up

TOD'S held a very special Pop Up at Hong Kong Harbour City TOD’s boutique for a very limited time to celebrate TOD’S Surf Collection. The boutique is the first in Hong Kong to host the Surf Collection concept and is exclusive during this period.

TOD’S presents a summer under the banner of surf, in which days spent by the sea - unorganized and natural, always elegant- are rendered in materials corroded by the sun in a blend of vibrant colours.

Wind across the beach moves TOD’S initials on the sneaker and Gommini, in a whole range of colours that embody a special lifestyle.

Tracks in the sand ornate the skins of the new Gommino bags, stamped in relief on monochrome or colourblock crust.

CLUB MONACO Spring 2018 "Now You See Me" Hong Kong Presentation

The core of the Club Monaco ethos revolves around a celebration of the individual. This season, the brand embraces that notion with an interactive campaign using light, shadow, and reflection to assert the Club Monaco woman and man as open and undefined and create a space for you to see yourself.

In keeping with the spirit of individual expression that inspired Club Monaco’s SS18 NYFW activation, our Head of Design Steven Cateron styled, art directed, and photographed the Spring 2018 lookbook. Shot in our offices on bare-faced models, the images evoke an intentional realness as a rare first look at the collection through the lens of its creator. The Spring 2018 Collection launched in stores this February, with injections of newness continuing through June.

“Now You See Me” is a multifaceted activation that includes an in-store installation. In an effort to capitalize on this moment of connection for the brand and its customer and media friends, Club Monaco participated in New York Fashion Week with the in-store installations in lieu of a formal fashion presentation. Building on the campaign’s use of light and shadow, the installation incorporates reflective surfaces, revealing the customer as the “Me” in “Now You See Me.”

Effortless, purposeful design forms the foundation of the Club Monaco Women’s Spring 2018 Collection. Inspired by Club Monaco’s heritage, classic prints and patterns are revisited and updated with of-the-moment details. Intentional simplicity is conveyed through styling, with a focus on iconic pieces such as crisp shirting, modern suiting, and expertly tailored trousers.  “The Collection is clean and the styling de-layered, offering a renewed sense of ease and drawing focus to the key pieces that compose each look,” said Cateron.

The palette is true to Club Monaco, highlighting classic black and crisp white with pops of unexpected, bold color, unified through the use of abstract print. Polka dots and pinstripes are also important, speaking to a quiet ‘80’s influence. Styling is purposefully pared back, with key silhouettes often repeated throughout the collection to reveal their versatility.

Thoughtful simplicity also serves as the foundation for the Club Monaco Men’s Spring 2018 Collection. Taking a cue from the brand’s heritage, it is largely focused on menswear essentials such as the perfect pant or button-down with pared-back styling that highlights the waistline through tucked-in shirting and classic belts. “He feels effortless this season. The styling is a bit less fussy but still maintains a sense of polish,” said Cateron. The men’s Spring 2018 palette also serves as a nod to Club Monaco’s roots, focusing on the play between black and white, with intermittent hits of fresh, bold print.

"Club Monaco has always been about individuals and the idea of non-prescriptive style," says Steven Cateron, Head of Design. "This season’s collection celebrates that part of the brand’s DNA - it’s strong but also feels open and effortless

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD SS2018 Advertising Campaign

To celebrate the first Vivienne Westwood store opening in New York; Vivienne Westwood, Andreas Kronthaler & Juergen Teller hosted an exhibition of the images they have created over the last 20 years, turning the six story French Beaux-Arts building into a gallery space, and party. At the party were a cast of club kids; straight, gay, trans, models & actors- who became the subject for the latest Vivienne Westwood SS2018 Campaign. “They all looked so great! So - we decided we wanted to shoot them all for the campaign. We wanted to shoot them in the exhibition space at the top of our store- it seemed natural. And of course, we wanted to shoot them in their city in their natural environment, in New York.

We really loved Chloe (Sevigny) for the campaign- I met her at our exhibition and she looked so great- she’s so lovely and looks really good in our clothes!

I like New York. With everything that’s going on there politically, it feels charged, like there is a new energy. People seem to be really standing-up!” - Andreas Kronthaler

Emporio Armani SS2018 Advertising Campaign

Emporio Armani SS2018 campaign is impactful and with a new concept, the shots feature a gallery of people of different ages, with different jobs and from different parts of the world. Designed as a hub of ideas, clothes and accessories, Emporio Armani expresses its original spirit today more than ever. The campaign itself is a type of hub too – men and women present themselves candidly and confidently, and show that they make their own choices in life and in the way they dress, with a spontaneous and insightful approach.

The real star is their attitude, their way of being: independent and free in their interpretation of different styles, from formal to sporty to fashionable, each according to their own personality.

The uniqueness of every character portrayed is expressed in a brief, ironic, personal description. The campaign is united by one common slogan: Everyone has a different story…and everyone wears Emporio Armani. Emporio Armani is the link between the people featured, and a symbol of belonging.

The subjects of the photos were selected through street casting in Italy and in major European cities. The shots, fresh and instinctive, were all taken in Milan by young photographers Ben Weller, Mark Peckmezian and Pawel Pysz.
