Paul Lafayet 2017 Chinese New Year Limited Edition

Paul Lafayet celebrates the year of rooster by introducing its 2017 Limited Edition Chinese New Year Collection to everyone. This year, the collection is inspired by the French symbolism ‘Le coq Gaulois’, combining paintings of French roosters with traditional Chinese arts onto the heart of the collection box. The French Collection Cookies Box (32 pcs) & French Macaron Confectionery Box (12 pcs), along with Paul Lafayet’s traditional French recipe by sourcing the best ingredients from places around the world, all delicacies are handmade and homemade locally in Hong Kong and is packaged with the beautiful blending of French and Chinese elements. Roosters are long-believed that they would bring fidelity and prophecy and Le coq gaulois (The Gallic Rooster) is originated from the Ancient Roman time, when French people were also known as the Gallus people. Tracing back to the royal historiography, the ‘first Christian king of France’, Clovis I was the first King to adopt Le coq gaulois as a part of the national emblem. Slowly and gradually, the French rooster has become the national personification of France. Even till now, Rooster is still a prominent figure of France, especially in sporting events such as football leagues.

GREAT Brings To You Your Favourite Christmas Feasts

Your Yuletide greetings can now be delivered with panache whether you are hosting a bountiful feast for your family, selecting a thoughtful holiday gift for your business colleagues, or preparing a romantic evening for your beloved, GREAT Food Hall has it all. Your Christmas feast can start with the world’s tastiest sausages, cold cuts, salami, Mangalica sliced ham and cheese platters with GREAT’s ready-to-go party platters and canapé collections, all guaranteed to sate your guests’ appetites.

Follow these starters with a Mary’s free-range turkey straight from the farm in California, and garnish with an array of Christmas vegetables, including parsnips. Or try GREAT’s ready-to-eat Christmas sets, and fully cooked or oven-ready items to make your Christmas meal memorable.

A sip of authentic Christmas comes by way of Shropshire Mulled Wine Spices, adding spark to the festive season. Serving a luscious dessert such as Christmas Pudding and Panettone is the best way to finish off the feast. Different hamper selections, confectionaries and chocolates from Monty Bojangles & Bahen & Co, and the refined tea experience of Thés de la Pagode Gourmet Tea from GREAT Food Hall make wonderful Christmas gifts to friends and business colleagues.

As the saying goes, first impression is the last impression. In 1869, Mark Pick began a family business in the south of Hungary turning out some of the world’s most satisfying sausages and cold cuts. The farm uses Mangalica, a Hungarian breed of domestic pig. The pork’s high marbling and beneficial fat content creates a delicate aroma and refreshing aftertaste.

Your party guests will be impressed by your cheese platter, which can be matched with Managalica sliced ham and salami. GREAT is the only grocery store in Hong Kong with an in-store Cheese Room, offering a tremendous selection of cheeses. All cheeses are kept at a constant temperature in a humidity-controlled environment 24 hours a day to
ensure the best cheeses in optimum condition.

Jolanda de Coló @ Handmade Just Taste Better

Jolanda de Coló offers more than 2000 specialty food products: white and red meat, salami, fish, crab and some processed ready to eat products. The story of Jolanda de Coló started in 1976 when Signora Alana made one of her dreams come true and revived the ancient Friuli tradition of raising force-fed geese. By now her passion is shared by her whole family: Antonello her husband and Bruno their son, as well as all their employees.

Today processing geese meat is only one of the many activities. All products are carefully monitor with the procedures from the selection of breeders to the final touches at their production site in Palmanova. From reviving the ancient goose breeding and goose salami producing tradition of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region today Jolanda de Coló produces more than 100 traditional specialty food products and selects the best suppliers to serve the need of the quality restaurants from all over the world at the 5000 square meter production site in Palmanova in 26 factories all together.

The catalog contains more than 2000 ingredients, half ready and ready to eat products from all over the world, thanks to our commercial agreement with the most important producers of the industry and the carefully selected suppliers. They are the only producers in Italy who specialize in goose liver, curing veal carpaccio, salting and maturing such valuable pork meat as Hungarian mangalica. Also, they are the expert in curing the Alaskan salmon. Our expertise involves areas such as the cold smoking of food with special wood or cooking techniques on low temperature.

The geese and duck are raised by carefully selected Hungarian breeders, whom are regularly checked by Jolanda de Coló's quality controllers from the choosing of the eggs and goslings through their feeding and fattening until their slaughter and processing. Here, in fact the tradition developed by the Jewish community after the end of World War II is still alive and still is one of the nation's most important agricultural activities.

The meat are cured in salt, sugar and spices make for such a texture and taste that our carpaccios are famed in restaurant as well. Paired with vegetables, seasonal fruits or cheese they make a quick and elegant starter or a quick and creative meal. In the past 10 years we tried many salami recipes: some were based on old recipes while others were the result of our team's creativity. The most distinctive characteristic of our products are the taste which is delicious and a bit smokey.

GREAT Food Hall Set To Savour France

Joining in Hong Kong’s ‘Le French GourMay’ celebration, GREAT Food Hall brings the finest flavours of France to adventurous foodies to discover from now until May 21, 2015.

Kusmi Tea is a long-established brand, originally founded in 1867 in St. Petersburg and named after its Russian founder Pavel Kousmichoff.  Fifty years later, the company relocated to Paris as a result of the Russian Revolution and is today French owned and run with an expanding international presence that includes Hong Kong’s very first dedicated Kusmi tea counter at GREAT. The range comprises unique blends of green, black, red, herbal, wellness and decaf teas, sold in loose-leaf tins, hand-stitched muslin tea bags and gift sets.

Xavier is a famous fromagerie in Toulouse, primarily dedicated to refining traditional and farmhouse cheeses from all over France. The cheeses specially selected for aging are made from unpasteurised milk to preserve the quality and tradition of the farmers and artisans. The refinement process takes place in their own tightly regulated cellars, where temperature, humidity and storage time all play a part in bringing out the best qualities of each cheese.

Being showcased in the French Cheese Platter is an exceptional variety of cow, sheep and goat’s milk soft and hard cheeses, such as Ardi-Gasna, Bleu de Séverac, Comté de Réserve, Coup de Corne, Fleur de Braslou, Ossau, Rocher de Séverac, Tomme de Monsieur Séguin, Tomme du Ségala, and Tomme du Soulor.

French potato chip producer Sibell makes premium crisps with a truly refined taste. Using potatoes grown in France and sunflower oil in the cooking process, the brand has created a range of unusual and upmarket flavours, including black truffle, smoked salmon and typically French foie gras.

Fabrice Gillotte’s passion for chocolate in all its forms is evident in his avant-garde creations, which are as beautiful as they are delicious. With precision and ingenuity, the classic ingredients combines them with new flavours that result in unique taste sensations earning him many awards in the 30-plus years he has been devoted to artisanal chocolate-making.

Currently highlighted is Amours de Kokeshi, a four-piece collection of Parisian and Tokyo-style dolls in dark and milk chocolate that are filled with almond-hazelnut praliné and vanilla caramel. These come packaged in a custom-designed box in tribute to Le French GourMay.

Fruit has been the focus of the culinary creations made by Les Comtes de Provence since 1986. Traditionally prepared using cauldrons and pure cane sugar to obtain the best of the fruit, its line of jams is completely ‘au naturel’ produced without artificial colours, flavour enhancers, preservatives and GMOs.

The brand’s newest marmalade, Délice d’Orange au Chocolat Bio, combines two complementary flavours : organic orange and chocolate and is so delicious it won the Artisan Gold Award at the 2015 Dalemain Marmalade Festival recently held in the UK.
