Roger Vivier Opens In K11 MUSEA Hong Kong

Roger Vivier opens its latest boutique in Hong Kong at K11 MUSEA – the city’s newest Cultural-Retail landmark at the Tsim Sha Tsui Harbourfront. The boutique highlights the work of chosen artists through the furniture pieces that will be displayed in store.

French designer Hervé Van der Straeten showcases his signature graphic aesthetic with the “Mirror Saturnales.” Glas Italia’s Patricia Urquiola stands out with a luminous, multi-color finish for her “Table Shimmer” piece. Italian designer Angelo Mangiarotti made “Eccentrico” and “Eros” – a pair of marble tables that play with symmetry. Architect, designer, and scenographer India Mahdavi takes inspiration from Persian gardens for her “Garden of Eden” rug, while Dutch designer Mae Engelgeer plays with dimensions for her “Bliss Rug” creation.

The seating areas will feature the “Julep” sofa and armchair by Swedish architect Joans Wagell, influenced by the 1950s avant-garde movement. Minotti’s Gigi Radice showcases her love for classic lines with the “Albert” sofa, while Saba’s Paolo Grasselli adds touches of color with his “Geo” pouf chairs.  French designer Christel Sadde adds another highlight in the boutique with “Je Dance” – a mobile sculpture, handcrafted in precious materials such as gold and palladium.

These works of art exhibit Roger Vivier’s values of creativity, exclusivity, and rarity – qualities that define each collection. For AW2019, Creative Director Gherardo Felloni continues the evolution of the Maison with new styles, inspired by the archives, but reinterpreted in his design aesthetic.  Key pieces for the new season include the Courbette pump, which features a bicolor, chunky heel with a curved interior, inspired by an archive heel from the 1960s and the Viv’ Skate, casual sneakers that capture the spirit of the ‘70s skateboarding culture. Likewise taking center stage is the Beau Vivier bag, a completely new creation that features a top handle and a shoulder strap, making it a versatile accessory that can be worn in different ways.

Chloé AW2019 Advertising Campaign

Chloé AW2019 Advertising Campaign revisits the notions of love, passion and commitment that Natacha Ramsay-Levy explored throughout the runway collection.

Photographed in the Highlands, from intimate landscapes of the heart to a luminous yet rugged backdrop, this expedition showcases natural, equestrian and naval references with lightness and femininity.

Outdoor tailoring in tartan and tweed, a palette of tundra and aquatic tones, and dresses in undulating volumes bridge Old World ceremony and sensuality. Here, from the great heights of Scotland, the two women share spontaneous moments of sisterhood, exuding carefree confidence.

KIEKL'S Introduces NEW Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask & Creamy Eye Treatment

Kiehl’s Introduces New Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask - A treat for dehydrated skin and Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. Kiehl’s has believed in avocados' potential for years, originally harnessing the fruit’s benefits in the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado when it launched in 2001. Today, Kiehl’s re-introduces the latest formula to emerge from the apothecary, the NEW Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask - the formula with superfood to provide a richly replenishing, deeply hydrating treatment that helps revitalize and refresh skin in a matter of minutes, leaving 91.7% of users reporting their skin felt smooth immediately after use. The innovative creamy texture of the mask mimics that of the original fruit, feeling both comforting and luxurious on the skin. Avocados are bursting with vitamins and omegas that make them a powerful skincare ingredient, supporting everything from lustrous hair to a luminous complexion. The new avocado mask leaves skin feeling nourished while helping prevent water loss by sealing in moisture. With a unique, rich texture inspired by a fresh, ripe Avocado, the hydrating face mask leaves skin feeling soft and replenished. And while you can always make your own avocado mask at home, the new Kiehl’s Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask provides infinitely conditioning and nourishing hydration.
The Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is thick, creamy preparation helps keep the delicate and sensitive skin around the eye area well hydrated. The fatty acids naturally found in Avocado Oil are superbly rich and act as effective moisturizers. Contains a high level of Shea Butter, known as a skin conditioning agent. With unique water-in-oil formula, upon immediate application, the cream feels buttery to the skin. Gently blending the preparation on the skin will burst a barrier for optimal moisturization. This cream offers refreshing sensation to the skin. The texture also allows the cream to hold its place in the delicate under-eye area so it absorbs well and will not migrate into the eyes. This fragrance-free treatment has been Ophthalmologist tested and gentle for use around the eye area and it is suitable for sensitive skin.

Flora Miranda AW2019 “LaLaLand” Couture Runway Show

Flora Miranda, Antwerp-based Austrian fashion designer presented her AW2019 new couture collection themed “LaLaLand” at Elysées Biarritz in Paris recently. The designer has made it her duty to research the internet and come up with astonishing collections, discussing developments in technology, while developing new technologies herself.

The collection was part of a process of teaching computers how garments work: in this specific work Flora Miranda teaches machines what erotic clothing is, covering different niches of human sexuality.

The collection presents her work-in-progress, the status quo of her research on erotics, machine-learning and the internet. In the progress of developing the collection, Flora Miranda is currently establishing a database for a creative computer, from which the computer can gain information about how different kinds of garments work, how they translate on the body and what they express.

The Idea
The origin of Flora Miranda’s inspiration in eroticism lies in the overdrawn feminine shapes of online-Avatars in the 90s. Although she questions the gender roles behind the Avatars, the image of the ideal woman - femininity intensified to an extent, where there is nothing left but breast, backside and legs - intrigued her and inspired her to play with feminine erotics in her collection.

Each piece in her current work portrays a different woman with her own erotic identity - varying from romantic and flirty to cyber-aesthetic and bondage looks. The shapes change with each dress, as Flora Miranda designed them specifically to reference a certain type of sexual identity. Those identities are partly categorised in a way she has put them into the database, teaching the computer about feminine eroticism.

The Materials
In her upcoming collection, the designer is using a technique based on a tulle-method which allows her to draw cyber-romantic silhouettes.

Unlike in her last collection, not the dresses themselves are computer generated, but some of the patterns on the fabric.  There will also be two dresses made of silicone, the material Flora Miranda is known for using.

The Show
The presentation of “LaLaLand” is conceptualized by Flora Miranda and the Austrian dancer Florentina Holzinger, who is known for her dirty depiction of the female body. The dancer, a superstar of the contemporary European dance scene, is both famous and infamous for her outstanding choreographies, in which she not only satirizes political matters, but also challenges gender stereotypes.

The whole show was playing with romantic cyber-aesthetics, using gelatine and gadgets to portray the virtual flesh and vague looks of the digital age. In cooperation with the musician T e l e p a t h, the show will be supported with music of the genre Vaporwave, an online movement that came out of the postponement of subcultures into the internet.

YOLANCRIS AW2019 Couture Runway Show - mylifestylenews Top 10's Pick

YOLANCRIS AW2019 Couture collection presents a hidden, dark, darkly romantic spring with a Gothic touch.

Inspired by the stories of Edgar Allan Poe and the illustrations by Harry Clarke and Aubrey Beardsley, the colorful characteristic of the brand gives way to a black and white that are fused and contrasted in forms that are reminiscent of the decorative arts of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth.

Along with Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts, the other most important influence of the creative director Yolanda Pérez are the decades of the 60s and 70s of the 20th century.

The black and white binomial of the collection has its point in common with the op art of the 60s, being the graphics of the French designer Louis Féraud a reference point in conceiving and creating the ornamentations of the pieces of the collection with abundant embroideries and hand-sewn rhinestones.

Among the collaborators, Yolancris has worked with Roselinde's jewelry.

The light of the Canary Islands and its natural landscapes are the greatest inspiration of Ros Jiménez, owner and designer of the brand.

The House also collaborated with British footwear brand Sophia Webster.

Hair and makeup was coordinated by Marcello Costa and his team.

The New ZEGNA Path #WHATMAKESAMAN

What makes a man? There isn’t a single answer; rather, there are many. The world we live in is fluid and ever changing. So, too, is the concept of masculinity. The notion of masculinity as something steely and unambiguous, a staid and static concept, no longer works – if it ever did. Masculinity is a state of mind, not a set of given rules. Men have been coming to terms with their inner weaknesses and strengths and are willing to take risks to embrace their own view of what masculinity is, even if this means going against traditional notions of manlihood. Men today know that fragility and failure can make them better because it is the movement of the mind and the engagement of the soul that count. Men have learned that embracing love as a positive force is a winning decision, that exploring imagination is an enriching voyage of self-discovery, that dreams and playfulness can be the qualities of adults. Masculinity is a plural act today. One that takes on different meanings and includes many qualities, both expected and not: courtesy, politeness, patience, vulnerability, wisdom, eccentricity. What makes a man is the dignity and openness to accept and embrace the contradictions of life, to evolve day by day, being truthful to one’s self, endlessly changing one’s perspective and attitudes. A purveyor of timelessly modern clothing to generations of men over the last one hundred and ten years, Zegna has always adopted an ever-evolving mindset. Now the brand seeks to encourage an open conversation around what makes a man today. We have no answers to this question, nor any bold statements to make; rather, we seek to pose questions and foster a dialogue.

Zegna’s desire to facilitate this conversation is the major purpose behind our new brand campaign. This campaign is a platform for discussion and perhaps some provocation. It takes courage to express a new type of masculinity – a masculinity that is, perhaps, different from the idealized versions of masculinity that have existed for so long. With a deep respect for this courage, Zegna, a brand rooted in tailoring and fine craftsmanship, is also embracing an idea of masculinity that is fluid, sensitive, and unequivocal. The brand believes courage is an essential part of masculinity today. The courage to shatter conventions, but also the courage to embrace risks, accepting that failure may be the result. Two times Oscar’s winner Mahershala Ali is a versatile actor who has depicted and embodied many shades of masculinity and he is a natural fit to represent the idea of what a man is today. He brings a personal gravitas and a lightness of spirit, an inner richness and wit. The talented and multifaceted artist Nicholas Tse was destinated to become a star since the day he was born. His unconventional personality, driven by his passion to fight stereotypes, makes him the perfect voice to spread the meanings of modern masculinity. Spare, meaningful portraits are juxtaposed with white pages, scribbled with handwritten notes that convey a sense of constant questioning. Questions, not answers, are enlightening after all. The campaign asserts love, failure, fight, risk, dreaming, playfulness, movement, and freedom as qualities that make a man today – but more traits can always be added, as men today are complex and constantly evolving. The ultimate goal is to open a door, letting ideas unfold and welcoming the shape they will take. Openness makes a man. A willingness to accept change as the force that shapes life. The ultimate message, after all, is one of acceptance and, eventually, self acceptance. Of kindness as a supreme form of strength.
