CERRUTI 1881 SS2019 Collection

CERRUTI 1881 SS2019 Collection is an evolution that never loses sight of the quintessential House DNA. This is the leitmotif for the latest collection, which channels the dress code imagined by Nino Cerruti, in its most pared-down expression.

Crisp, fresh, flowing, and soft are the watchwords this season; silhouettes, shapes, volumes and fabrics lead the way.

The collection is inspired by the timeless elegance of traditional Japanese textile design in all its subtlety.

Classic textures, cuts, patterns and pieces are meshed with elements from the CERRUTI 1881’s archives and the contemporary chic of deconstructed tailoring, creating an airy look and feel.

The rich palette of olive, marine and brown shades is typically masculine, while the fabrics are natural. Linen crepe, silk, organic Pima cotton (worked in some instances so as to produce a paper-like texture), and nubuck with technical nylon as a counterpoint in places create the season’s most remarkable pieces, which range from striped jacquard tank tops and washed-silk jogging bottoms worn with trench coats, to jackets and coats with Japanese-inspired collars and sleeves.

Technical fabric shorts become key pieces, mixed with both tailored items and casual coats. Like the CERRUTI 1881 trench, revisited here in paper-textured nylon or linen crepe, worn with Bermudas or satin jogging bottoms.

This streamlined collection is studded with a number of exclusive motifs - handcrafted tie and dye patterns influenced by traditional Japanese indigo designs, and stripes redolent of the kimono.

Paired with light, functional accessories, the tailoring is transformed.

Flip-flops, babouches, slippers, sneakers with rubber soles, and sleek leather and canvas bags give the silhouette a sense of laidback chic.

This season collection also introduces a capsule of unisex pieces with a resolutely masculine vibe – loose fitting, generously proportioned silk shirts, kimono inspires coats, relaxed tailored suits, pleated trousers and sleeveless jackets but all flexibly styled to suit both a CERRUTI man and woman.

Brioni SS2019 Collection

Brioni SS2019 collection continues to explore the contemporary value of the sartorial tradition. Core looks of the winter season are translated into lighter versions for warmer weather. By adding archetypal summer pieces, a wardrobe for the whole year is composed. First of all, the 2019 summer collection is a window into the Brioni Bespoke service. With Bespoke, the customer enters an altogether different experience. Wardrobe pieces are crafted by Brioni’s staff of master tailors according to the customer’s exact measurements.

In the pursuit of clothes of relevance, evolution takes precedence over revolution. Nonchalance defines the summer version of the Brioni Suit with a lighter shoulder structure. In general, the collection concentrates on vernacular classics such as the Tweed Look, the Harrington jacket, the Carcoat and the Windbreaker. Since summer is the high season for social activities, the accent of the Brioni wardrobe lies on versatility and a plethora of different needs from the weekend and festivities to general outerwear and travel.

Innovations concentrate on possibilities of the material and the three-dimensional perfection of a masculine silhouette. Garment archetypes are often linked to specific textiles which, in turn, associate with specific requirements in a man’s daily life.

The Brioni SS2019 wardrobe rethinks these necessities in the interest of a more fluid use. Unexpected high quality materials introduce new purposes and social contexts to iconic pieces. Yet, when it comes to classic cloth like seersucker, and solaro, orthodoxy reigns.

From early on, Brioni specialised on versatile tailoring. By breaking down the art of the suit into 220 steps, modulations become an integral part of the overall construction.

Every season, each element passes the test of a contemporary feel, while the vision stays the same: back to the roots. In the quest for reassuring elements of timeless masculine attire, Brioni relies on anatomic structures, sharp cutting, practicality and ergonomics, wedded to the finest sustainable materials, light horsehair techniques, iconic weaves, colours, and styling combinations. As an Italian company based in Rome, Brioni established its reputation by refining a man’s wardrobe for fair climate conditions and weather-independent contemporary surroundings.

The Summer 2019 wardrobe leaves ample space for quirky choices. The subtle play with sartorial codes extends to trompe l’oeil knits and mismatched patterns. As a wink to Brioni’s travel expertise, the collection includes a new take on the Hawaiian shirt, as well as scarves with hand-painted Italian themes, featuring the Brijuni Islands and landmarks of Rome, from the Spanish Steps to the Colosseum.

Befitting the festive summer season, eveningwear takes up more space. The winter season established the classic black tie look. For summer, the collection diversifies wardrobe possibilities in the interest of bridging daytime and evening with The White Linen Tuxedo, The Pyjamas Tuxedo, the Daytime Tuxedo and the Long Jacket Suit, as well as non-conformist developments of the elegant peak lapel and daytime button cover jewelry.

In the interest of exclusive choices, Brioni continues to transform unique antique tapestries into tailored pieces. They are the non plus ultra of the Bespoke service: hand embroidered tapestry, exclusively tailored into one of a kind. Furthermore, Brioni continues to build up its Jewelry Collection adding vintage porcelain vial stoppers for a more playful lapel, as well as a silver Ginko biloba leaf for good luck.

Nestled between a pristine one kilometre beach with long, private and lush gardens, Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi exudes classic Arabesque style and serenity right in the heart of the dynamic Emirati capital.

The complex also includes six spectacular villas, each consisting of private pools and four bedrooms. In addition, the Shangri-La Residences offer 161 spacious serviced apartments ranging from studio to four–bedroom units that are ideal for longer stays.

Our arrival was earlier than expected and the Horizon Club only opens from 12 noon onwards during the summer period. Despite the shortfall, the check-in was handled promptly at the main lobby and allowing us to have more leisure time to admire the soaring high ceiling designed with a geometrical line of light and adorned with an oversized chandelier that adds a magnificent palacio motif. The giant wooden table top taking center stage in the foyer is decorated with various colors of orchids vertically and widely spread out almost to the edge to create an awe-inspiring effect.

The adjacent lobby lounge is allocated with plentiful of earth toned sofas and lounges and spaced out with different carpets separating different sections for privacy and more intimate conversation.

Numerous impressive arched passages with Arabic design motif lead to the full service bar that serves signature cocktails and afternoon tea with an elevated view of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque through the main swimming pool.

Our Horizon Club Deluxe room also comes with a view of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque with balcony and the interior designed with Arabesque features, vintage but injected with color and wit by bringing the décor into unexpected settings. The large piece of curved wooden poster headboard is well fitted with the super King size bed with a few old and color-faded framed pictures still hanging on the wall.

We couldn’t help but to wonder if these eye-soaring images were there since the opening in 2007. However, the spacious Arabian architecture flare bathroom is another bonus feature with premium amenities.

The Horizon Club is a definite must-go to lounge especially when you are booked on the club floor with unlimited access and a fair selection of beverages as well as some quality snacks and good-bites throughout the operating hours. Besides the more prestige and privileged luxuries that are offered with personalized service, individual recognition and special benefits at this exclusive retreat, the Horizon Club is worth to spend some quality and intimate time at. Alas, there is no breakfast served but to be directed to the all-day dining Sofra Bld restaurant.

Three outdoor swimming pools located in different areas are available in this hotel for your enjoyment. All three swimming pools are also facing the Sheikh Zayed Grand mosques for you to capture the best shot from different vantage points.

With the infinity main swimming pool being the most frequented pool among the other two, the gazebos and a few designated areas are the most demanded spots to hold for a perfect sunset viewing.

The other recreational pool is more for relaxing, surrounded by the lush green of palm trees by the beach whereas the adults only pool at the spa area will allow you to have quieter moments to chill.

The adults only elevated pool.

An abra experience is another attraction offered by the hotel. Being the important means of transport in the past, the hotel brings this water taxi experience back to life for guests to experience a ride through the complex to the nearby indoor souk while enjoying the architecture & design of the surroundings.

Breakfast served in Sofra Bld spreads a wide selection of international and local delights with authentic flavors as well as Asian relish in an extensive dining space where Arabia meets Asia.

Wander through the souk-style restaurant, where chefs showcase different cuisines from their ancestral homes and sample traditional dishes from the food station dedicated to different regions.

GIVENCHY SS2019 Women's & Men's Ready To Wear Collection - mylifestylenews' Top 10 Pick

GIVENCHY SS2019 Women's & Men's Ready To Wear Collection

Floral prints, once a trademark of the female wardrobe, enter into both women’s and menswear.

Signifying a further take on mirroring, the patterns draw together, disappear, dissolve and explode into circular flower formations.

Morphing into silver embroideries, the theme of reflection is expressed in metallic elements achieved through artisanal processes: dresses in silver lace lacquered in silver and applied with silver resin create a foil effect, while silver outerwear comes to life through leather lamination.

Mirror embroidery appears in menswear.

Reflected in the show set, a series of rooms draped in painted canvases like the uncovering of an old house, colours materialise in a faded warm palette of beige tones, deep yellows, dark greens, lavender, salmon and indigo blue.

Fabrics largely emerge in cottons, jerseys and crepons. Wide leather belts appear throughout, alongside work totes and small squashed zip-top bags.

A new bag, the WHIP, is introduced, in a boxy construction with a long front flap and a cut-out handle.

Jewellery is dramatic, exemplified in oversized chandelier earrings and corresponding rings in flattened metals, styled across the collection.

VIVIENNE TAM SS2019 The Color of Love Advertising Campaign

VIVIENNE TAM SS2019 The Color of Love Advertising Campaign and collections draws inspiration from the culture of Southeast Asia, particularly the traditional flower offerings denoting welcome, love, warmth and happiness.

Vibrant blues, greens, yellows and reds as well as fluorescent pinks and chartreuse imbue the collection with energy as do the neon trims and multicolored smocking. The fabrics are acid dyed denim reimagined, colored denims, crinkled chiffon, sheer organza, fine mesh and multi-colored lace.

Shapes are sometimes loose and flowing, with ruffled and tiered skirts and dresses, and easy jackets and pants. Neon sequined bralets and tees are easy accents stand-alone or layered under unconstructed blazers and jackets paired with cropped pants or denim. Lace or sheer organza plaid pajama tops and pants with contrasting plaid trims are a highlight as are the tuxedo blouses rendered in fine mesh or lace.

Mandalas feature prominently in the prints and patterns as do flowers and wreaths with an occasional appearance of colorful peacocks and butterflies rendered in embroideries or lace. Ruffles are prevalent, appearing on hems, the midriff and around the shoulders and sleeves, sometimes contrasted with casual athletic trims. Gradiated pleating and iridescence lends a 70’s feel to the collection but with a contemporary silhouette.

Complementary macramé accessories such as sandals, belts and bags, in bright colors underscore the feeling of lightness, rejuvenation and summer holiday spirit
that make for a fresh collection.
