PRADA Menswear SS2016 Advertising Campaign

PRADA Menswear SS2016 Advertising Campaign
Vulnerability possesses its own unique power, the power of truth. Prada’s SS2016 Menswear Advertising Campaign encapsulates this essence in a series of deceptively casual and relaxed portraits. Giving shape to this spirit of post-modest masculinity are three of cinema’s most promising talents: Tony-nominated Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game; Skylight; An Education), Billy Howle (The Seagull; The Sense of an Ending; Cider with Rosie) and Logan Lerman (Indignation; Fury; The Perks of Being a Wallflower).

Shot by Craig McDean in a quintessential New York nightclub, the actors are caught mid-transit framed against wildly textured and graphic walls. Stark flashlight heightens their candid, all too human engagement with the camera. The ambience is reminiscent of club photography from the 1970s where the authenticity of emotions fused with film. Silhouettes appear paradoxically soft and spontaneous. Together, the synthesis of bare non-conformism and Prada’s ongoing obsession with the industrial world produce a new tendency of use. The temperament of today suggests a thinking, vulnerable vitality.

A Time Out For Italian Trattoria At NEROVIVO

Being an established Italian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur for more than a decade now, NEROVIVO’s homey casual vibe has obviously been pleasing locals and expats alike for some time cherishing the simplicity in cooking. mylifestylenews writes…..

Kuala Lumpur is a food lover’s paradise and local favourites can mean different things to different people. Finding a place to dine for an evening that you would like to please your other half or friends is somehow debatable among many self-claimed food experts.

When we stepped into Nerovivo - the inner-city bungalow that is tucked away at the far end of the latest Kuala Lumpur most happening Changkat Bukit Bintang bars and restaurant strips, it was a delight to see some of our friend’s art pieces were hung on the wall to give extreme live to the its ambience and décor. Sandra Knuyt’s Chocolate Noir with her “imaginary friends” abstract, vibrant and colorful portraits are somewhat the kind of painting you would love to have in your own living room.

Nerovivo also known as “BlackLive” created to give you that “in home” residential feel from the redecorated private bungalow before being converted and expended into a restaurant business and offers a relaxing and inviting yet unpretentious casual dining feel. We were 10 minutes earlier as scheduled and after the brief greeting and we were sat next to the bar while two cocktails were offered to start our evening.

The main dining area are divided into indoor and alfresco dining where you can have a glimpse of one of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Kuala Lumpur Tower which is just minutes away from the restaurant as your backdrop. Hue private room separated the main dining offering a more intimate dining in private where more Knuyt’s lady with the big lips smoking cigar’s painting brighten the room and certainly had break the ice among diners.

The menu reads like a list of all your favourite Italian comfort food dishes and the kitchen is led by Portuguese born Chef Joao Melo and his team.

Under the helm of chef Melo, the cold selection on our table encompassed a <Tuna Carpaccio> which was sliced incredibly thin and palatable followed by a plate of <Cold Cuts> which says Italian, depending on which part of Italy you wish to be in.

When the <Duck Ravioli> arrived, however, we felt truly like we were tasting Chef Melo’s hands at work. It was Foie-Gras Truffle Ravioli with grilled Duck Breast slices with a dash of strawberry sauce that set the taste-buds into over-drive. The ravioli was very feathery in touch and texture with the rich foie-gras encased inside, it was a great combination that offset with the delicious duck meat.

With a whole menu page that is dedicated for just pizzas, thanks to the wood-oven at the end of the wooden deck, we couldn’t resist to order the <Neapolitan Pizza> that came extremely tasty with just the right balance of all the fresh ingredients used. Chef Joao made a point of highlighting to us that the rolled crust is a little different in execution to the usual thin crust pizzas. Parmigiano reggiano cheese was used to give a more piquant flavor to stand out, along with the rocket salad leaves.

The <Lamb Rack> was quite flavourful but a little too much fat and lacking in the surprise factor. The accompanying potato was rather a stand out instead and cooked to perfection.

The home-made <Egg Taglerini alla Vongole> with scallops and zucchini simply cooked in garlic and white wine with an olive oil base is another classic all time favorite for most Italian comfort food despite the clams and scallops used was rather too tiny in size to our perspective.

Nerovivo carries quite a substantial of wine in selection, our dinner was to pair with some recommended wines and sadly for the first red wines served we have to send it back as the wine was rather too warm and lost the charm by enjoying it. The service was also a hit and miss, the table settings were not executed consistently after clearing the previous course and other pairing wines didn’t come along with other courses before served.

Lastly, we were convinced to order the <Pistachio Pannacotta> and just as well we did, the dessert is rich in flavor, silky and topped the almond flakes to give extra bite contrasting the soft texture. Once again we had to ask for cutlery to eat our dessert before it was being placed on table. Nerovivo has its potential but seems to be lacking in a good Front of The House Manager, with the Chef Melo giving a lot of directions to the front line team, whereby his energy should be focused in the kitchen to offer patrons the trattoria in the very best Italian tradition to raise your eyebrows.

ELIE SAAB Rose Couture @ A Dream of Femininity

ELIE SAAB introduces the new fragrance Rose Couture, it is a flower, a colour, a fragrance and a dream of femininity. The very symbol of femininity is the endless source of inspiration for Elie Saab. The Couturier exalts his signature bouquet of white flowers with a whirlwind of rose petals and adorns his iconic first fragrance with the most feminine of colours. A Couture pink naturally. This is a dazzling expression of Elie Saab's aesthetics, Rose Couture explores a theme that is dear to his hearts - flowers, where they blossom each season in his collections, embroidered with limpid beads of dew, sculpted in tulle or taffetas, fashioned into petals of fluttering chiffon. Among the flowers of his fabulous imaginary garden, it is the rose that most often lends its rich palette to the Couturier.

Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian has harvested this Rose Couture from the heart of ELIE SAAB Le parfum, whose radiant Orange Blossom is brightened by Rose Petal Honey, Magnified and showcased in the new eau de toilette, the rose asserts itself more majestically. In the soaring top notes, it blends with fresh Peony into a whirlwind of silken petals, The delectable dew melts into an exquisite Rose Nectar, enhanced with fruity facets and softened with a dash of Vanilla. This addictive accord is carried by a breath of Jasmine as sheer as silk chiffon. A sumptuous woody base bolsters the airy composition, just as a tight-woven fabric adds structure to a flowing sheath. The voluptuous satin of Sandalwood. And the dark velvet of Patchouli which, by contrast, exalts the freshness of these radiant floral materials. The Rose Couture is tinted with a delicate shade of pastel pink, a colour reprized by the box that shelters its iconic, faceted bottle. Embossed with a subtle rose motif, the box conjures the flowers that blossom on the Couturiers's most sumptuous creations.
