M Missoni @ FW2015/16 Ad Campaign

M Missoni FW2015/16 Ad Campaign find inspiration in the collection’s mood: “the techno-girl from shangai”: it looks to a far-off world girl, living in china, but close in time, in a contemporary universe, who is very much into the metallic glints, the intrigues and enchantment that city sparks.

Behind the lens, fashion photographer Mel Bles, working with the Australian model Astrid Holler, gave life to an hyper-real and hyper-contemporary idea of woman, having as backdrop for the M Missoni collection a dichotomist location, with a synthetic and technologic nature, capturing the textures, kaleidoscopic colors and patterns of the whole collection. Art direction is by Jasmine Raznahan, styling by Vanessa Reid. The images are accompanied by a video based on the concept of digitalized and distorted speed, “techno” indeed, and on the over lapping of graphics and surreal images, where sounds and colors are matching together to make the whole collection shine

PERRIN PARIS @ FW2015/16 Hong Kong Presentation

Chloe Perrin's inaugural collection is inspired by 1920's French Art Deco artist Jean Dunand, who paired innovative design with traditional Oriental lacquer techniques. Tradition and modernity are thus at the center of this collection, executed with a particular irony and a strict attention to details.

The color palette is rich and sensuos; nuances of red range from bright lipstick to bordeaux; teal jade and done o grey provide subtle balance.

Astonishing materials such as caviar stingray, lacquered wood, and gold leaf evoke European furniture design inspired by the East. New shapes this season include the Mini Baggala, a perfectly proportioned day to night bucket bag made of luxurious calf skin and crocodile.

Le Madame Travail is elegantly organized breifcase, combining practical structure with signature Perrin femininity.

The classic Jet Set inspired the new smaller version, a smart wristlet just large enough for the essentials such as phone and credit cards.

The signature glove clutch continues to fascinate and has evolved in many interesting variations.

SOUTHPAW

Southpaw is not just a movie for those fans of boxing, as it is riveting entertainment for all, providing you don’t mind close-up shots of boxers being pummeled in a ring. The film tells the riveting story of Billy “The Great” Hope (Jake Gyllenhaal), reigning Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World. He seemingly has it all with an impressive career, a beautiful and loving wife (Rachel McAdamas), an adorable daughter (Oona Laurence) and a lavish lifestyle. When tragedy strikes and his lifelong manager and friend Jordan Mains (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) leaves him behind, Hope hits rock bottom and looses everything, including his daughter to social services. There is only one thing to do when you are at the bottom and that is to claw your way back up again. He seeks help and turns to an unlikely savior at a run-down local gym, Tick Wills (Forest Whitaker), a retired fighter and trainer to the city’s toughest amateur boxers.

And so begins this story about redemption and fighting for your future with tenacity, without giving in to the bad influences in life, so whatever you achieve will be truly great. This film is directed by the acclaimed talent of Antoine Fuqua (TRAINING DAY) and is about as real as you get with a total immersion in what is good and bad about a sport. The camera close-ups really do not miss a single bloody eye or bruised cheek or jarring upper cup move. The film opens with Billy winning a fight, but it is clear that he takes a lot of beating from his opponent and his body is not in great shape, including a constantly blurred eye and with this baggage Gyllenhaal creates a very believable character, not just in body bulk and build, but in mannerisms, the ability to box realistically and show how important family is to a great sportsman.

Rachel McAdams is equally impressive, showing what it takes to keep a family together when your husband is a champion sportsman, but she knows his foibles and the bad influences within the world he moves in and does her best to steer him away from temptations, but it is not enough and this is what creates the emotions which drive Billy to redeem himself. Oona Laurence as the daughter is very credible and shows a big emotional range to emphasize the love between a father and his daughter. 50 Cent is okay, but a one dimensional character who goes wherever the money is, but Forest Whitaker provides a great character portrait and the means for salvation for Billy and how he does this forms the key part of the second half of the film.

We don’t want to give too much away, as there is a lot of tension and emotion that propels you to a higher plain and it makes this film an absolute must see. Yes, you wince a bit during the boxing fights with the close camera work, but it makes it all the more visceral and realistic, but make no mistake, Jake Gyllenhaal is the main reason to watch this film, as he gives a wonderful performance of a proud and broken man where family is all.

PERNELLE @ FW2015/16 Ad Campaign

PERNELLE FW2015/16 Ad Campaign inspired by Milan where the brand's Creative Director Romeo Gigli lives and features the scenery of both Milan's fashionable city centre and exuberant woods, echoing the brand's simplistic and glamorous theme for this season.

The models' posture and look, the exquisitely designed handbags and the overall composition together create a mesmerizing dramatic tension.

The ad campaign is created under three themes, with a total of eight looks. The first theme is all about the classic Italian elegance, shot at Milan's Piazza Affari, where Medieval sculptures and pillars portrait a fascinating junction between the modern and historical world.

The other theme takes viewers onto a 19th Century romantic journey with a noblewoman with elegant makeup and in nostalgic look in the world famous park of arts, Parco Sempinoe.

The last theme brings viewer back to the modern metropolitan in one of Milan's busiest roads Vua Vittor Pisani. A contemporary-dressed lady overlooks Milano Centrale with her sharp gaze, demonstrating the independent and goal-oriented characteristic of women in the modern world.
